Lego Technic Bugatti Veyron 16.4
Lego Technic Bugatti Veyron 16.4 - 1:10 scale. Possibly the ONLY technic Veyron ever built.
About this creation

1:10 scale Technic Bugatti Veyron 16.4

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only Technic Bugatti Veyron I've seen so far. Made from a combination of the 8297 off roader and the 8145 Ferrari 599 - there weren't enough pistons in the 599! Engine has 16 cylinders like the real thing, but unlike the real thing, it wasn't possible to attach two cylinders to each lobe of the crank shaft, so this Veyron has a pair of V8s with joined cranks. The car is 4WD with power going through two differentials; a power functions clutch and a clutch made from two pegs and a collar substitutes for the third differential I didn't have. The two-piece rear spoiler extends from the rear of the car. Independent suspension front and rear, working doors and hand of god steering complete the model.

I'm a few pieces short, otherwise I'd have linked up the steering to the steering wheel, and added the center diff and a gearbox - but those parts aren't in the collection right now.

Comments and suggestions welcome!

Ming

Quoting 73H. bU1Ld3R. If it didn't have all the gaps, it'd be like Sheepo's! (Sheepo made a Technic Veyron)
Sheepo made it perfect, but this one was finished a year earlier - at the time it was definitely the first and only veyron...it's also smaller at 1:10 instead of 1:8. There's less space in there to pack in all the features :)

To everybody who's asked for instructions - thank you, I'm flattered. However, there's just no way I can provide them because a) I did not make any notes during building; b) I've got no idea how to produce them in the first place and c) the model has long been turned into something else. Sorry!

Quoting Motown Technic ! Excellent job!! Do you have experience with differentials, gear boxes, etc. because I am wondering how to plan out designing my first vehicle? How did you go about planning the dimensions of the Veyron? It is so close to the original! When do you plan on creating an updated version of the Veyron with the items you were not able to include in this version (i.e. steering linkage, working transmission)? Could you post a You Tube video or a series of pictures demonstrating how you created the Veyron? Well, I have many more questions to ask, might I be able to email you? Please let me know. Once again, great job...your creation has inspired so many to try their hand at making a masterpiece! - Motown Technic (rvkusa4@hotmail.com)
This car doesn't exist anymore. It's now a Ferrari 250 GTO, which does have a working gearbox. The only fixed component when it comes to dimensions are the wheels - lay out your wheels first and then that should tell you how big the wheelbase is etc and how the frame has to fit around that. The rest is just figuring out proportions. Too late for the video or pictures, it's been built and gone! Also the car DID have a working steering linkage. Good luck!

The patent fraud. About the Fiat hybrids, the technology double clutch with electric motor between has been stolen by a patent that Fiat Company has never wanted to purchase, but only shamelessly to copy. I invite to visit my blog where her "vitality" and boldness of the Fiat planners it appears in all of evidence: http://dualsymbioticelectromechanicalengine.blogspot.com/ If the industries can afford unpunished to copy the ideas and defending it need very expensive trial, to which target need the patents? How our young people can find intellectual courage if the economic potentates crush the rights of the single ones? How to defend the rights of private inventors? Whoever is about to ask for a patent or wants to propose a proper patent to a great firm I suggest to give a look to my experience with the Fiat, to get able to operate with best adroitness. Thanks and good time to everybody. Ulisse Di Bartolomei

Yes, but never got around to it. Also didn't have enough gears left over after building the 4WD transmission - maybe for version two.

Quoting Alex Beringer I think what they mean by W16 is that you take 2 v8s and cross them sorta like his: vv w, if the middle of the w keeps on going until the outside of the w but not as far as the Volkswagen logo. P.S. VW owns Bugatti, Fiat owns Ferrari, Ford owned(past tense 4 a reason)Aston-Martin, VW owns Audi which owns Lamborghini, and not sure about Maserati.
The real car shares a common crank so the Vs meet at the lower point. Obviously can't do that with lego, so I joined two Vs at the crank ends (two cranks instead of one). Fiat owns Ferrari which owns Maserati...

Thanks! Nice job with the back end on yours - that was the area I was least happy with. I also had weight issues; actually used a kickstand underneath to support it when not demo-ing so as to not ruin the springs.

Quoting Peaceful Skyblue Please post more pictures, buddy!!! We all know those artistic shots you took are very great but we also do need some usual shots like the bird's eye shots, front shots, back shots, side shots, and etc. I still love this Veyron so much!!! I wish I could buy the sets you made this from.
Would love to, but the Veyron has now turned into the 250 GTO :P I wish I could buy those sets too so I don't have to keep breaking down my cars - unfortunately I can't get them either!

I have been a keen collector and modeller for a while, but never seen such an amazing model. I thought it was an official model and was all set to go out and buy it!! I would love to build it myself and wondered if u do the build instructions? Time consuming i know. I am no good at creating my own stuff, though i think i might be inspired now! Your Ferrari model is another stunning creation and would sit well with all of the official Ferrari models I have now! More shelves needed!!

Wow! That's amazing! I really respect you technic guys who can pull some of this stuff off, its a completely different building style and when done well, like this one, it creates a beautiful effect - being able to see not only the outer design, but the inner workings and intricacies as well! Great work, and some top notch photography might I add! Peace - Patrick
