Mars Mission chapter 2
Part 2 of my Novel based on mars mission
About this creation
Chapter 2. Building

The sun shone so brightly on this day and the Martian soil and rock was deep orange colour that complemented the sun so.

The soil was interrupted by wide tire tracks. Theses tracks travelled for miles. Until at the end 6 bright orange tires paved through the soil and sand. Its hull was white, with orange and black consoles on each side. The back carried a drill platform, small but efferent it was detachable via a thick bolt connection. The front there was orange glass, with smaller windows on each side. It was the MT-21 Small Mobile Mining Unit. Inside a man sat, in his suit he drove slowly. He pressed a button on his stomach controls. Then a loud click came from his build in Speakers. In his helmet music pored out. ‘Nothing but a Hound dog crying all the time’ He lent back.
“Gota love the King!” He told him self.
Near the steering wheel a consol lit up. It looked like a sonar screen. With the line travailing in a circle. On the far side, after every swipe of the line a lime green dot appeared. He spun the wheel. The MT-21 swerved to the left towards the dot on the screen. He then started to flip switches, lean forward and peered out of the window. Out of the corner of his eye a small rock appeared. “Gotcha.” To held him self in a smug voice. But with Elvis bombing in the background it was hard to hear himself.
When he got close he drove so the small Drilling platform was next to the rock. Then he flipped a final switch and it disconnected. The MT-21 then drove off with out the trailer. Then stopped about a meter and a half out. He then pressed a button. The glass front lifted up. Whatever air was in it flue out with tremendous speeds, then the vents closed and he climbed out and jumped down. Walking, he followed the hull with his hand. Then pressed a other buttion. Part of the side popped out, and then fell back. He took his hands and lifted it up. Inside was a tray for cystals. He pulled out and carried it towards the Mobile drill. Then he put it down, and turned of the Elvis music. Pressing the touch screen the robotic drill ram moved towards the rock. Once on top it started to spin at immense speeds. Then crashed in to the orange rock. Within a few seconds the Rock exploded in to little fragments. And two energy Crystals fell near him.
“Building that dam Mobile Mining unit was a 3 day pain. But what it does is priceless!”
With this he put the crystals in the tray and carried it back to the front and started to re-attach the Mobile drill.
“That makes 12 crystals. Time to go home.” With this he placed a spare 13th crystal in a compartment behind the chair. ‘Power now at 100%’ A computers voice stated.
“I hope they got the rest of the quarters built back at base, sharing a room with 6 is to much!” He put it in reverse, turned around and headed back to Eagle Command base. 1 week on mars and she was almost complete.

Over the red Martian hill, a glimmer of light appeared. The Eagle Command base. Now completely operational. Three level’s of Earth on Mars.
The bottom level. Or the first floor was wide and long. Within this there laid the main airlock; allowing the Mars Mission crew to enter and leave. Down the small corridor after the airlock laid a ladder and elevator. Four doors, two on each side leaded into the Mess hall, which included a kitchen, and a lovely view of mars out on three orange windows. And across at the back of the base there has hydroponics. In this room plants transported from earth are planted, apple trees, carrots, potatoes, soya beans and Peas. Which produced air, and food for the base, crew and space suits.
The second floor, connected via the ladder and elavator to the first and third floor. Contained Living quarters, tolets, and showers. Water came from a underground Ice pocket close to the base. Toilets drained down to a blender, that would turn waste into compose for plants. And the Quarters accommodated all 40 people, 4 to a room and 5 rooms each side.
Finally, the top floor contained command, one large room full with millions of dollars (Pounds or Euros) worth of computers. The captain stood in the middle. The right side 3 tubes ran down the side of the base. Filled with compressed air it could get a man to the floor in less than an second.
One connected to out side, a quick route out of the base.
One to a missile turret on the far right part of the base.
And one was a link to the Eagle Shuttle. The main airlock of the Eagle was on the side of her. Connected to the ground via a latter. The tube was used for flooding her bowls with energy crystals. Using this a person could get in her, climb her vertical deck and pilot her out fast, incase of a dire emergency.

The captain walked towards one of the officers. The light shone through the orange glass, stoping damage to the eyes but it still blinded you.
“Miss.” He said slowly.
She turned around in her swivel chair, and looked at him.
Their helmets were still on but the visers were up.
“Yes captain. What’s the matter?” She replied.
“ Can you contact these two men and tell them to report to command.” He pointed on the crew list on the screen.
“Sure. Why?”
“I want them to take out the Crystal Reaper. And check out some strange energy readings in seasor 136.”
“Ok, ill call them up.” Pressing keys the brought up there individual hemet comm systems.
“Could you report to command, the Captain would like to see you.” She told them both at the same time.
The replies were “Ok” and “Yes mam”
She faced the captain. “What’s the Hurry, we have all year to check it out.”
“Either our sensors are out in that sector or there are all the energy crystals earth needs for the next 50 years!”

Outside the base, trucks moved. Wheels turned up sand. The Clawed Tank drove past, fully constructed at an amazing 35 meters height its powerful claw, Plasma Cannon, Missiles and Disk Launcher patroled. An MT-31 trike trove past. It stopped, read side opened and tilted, at least 20 energy crystals fell to the ground. The front semi dome opened, and a man got out. He walked towards the base, a small transport truck carried the energy crystals from the MT-Trike to the underground generator. He stopped, turned around and stared. Now in front of him was the Recon Dropship. Well, it was almost in front of him. Welders and Engineers were still finishing her off. Then out of the sky an very small ship landed. Named the Crystal Hawk one can clambered off the top. Walking forward he shouted “Aint she a site!”
Stephen, from the MT-Trike looked back,
“Yes she is. How long untill construction?”
“About a day.”
Togeather they walked to the bases Airlock. Entered and walked down the corridor. Food was being surved for off shift workers. They got on the evevator and traveled up. When it stopped they stood in Command, 1 persion carrying a crate got on the evevator and travelled down.
“The evevator is for transporttation of goods only.” Captain complained.
“Sorry sir. You wanted to see us.” Stephen replied.
“Yes, Stephen and Karl, you are to take the Crysyal Reaper and check out Grid sector 136. That’s an order.”
“You dragged me out of work, to do different work, nice one.” Karl remarked.
“You leave immediately, take the tube down to ground, air is being pumped into the Crystal Reapers O2 tanks as we speak. Keep contact, we haven’t gone that far out yet. Its about 13 Miles. Have fun!” The Captain ordered.
They both lined up, Kyle pressed a buttion, hoped in. Less than a micro second latter the hatch closed, and the one at the other end opened, then Stephen entered, and was expelled from the base.
“What if the Second door didn’t open?” Stephen asked.
“Well you would impact the second door at about 10 MPH, not very fast. But fast enough to break your bones, and shatter your helmit.”
Stephen just looked back, then swung his head forward. The Gold visor dropped down. He pushed it back up.
“Come on lets go.”

They got in the Crystal Reaper, and powered her up. Taking there helmets up they breathed the air already inside, and venting through out the cockpit.
As the lights turned on, two powerful hands jolted on each side.
“Robotic arms on line.”
Then at the front scoops for collecting rocks and crystals began to spin just above ground level. Underneath sand began to fly away.
“Scoop rotation working.”
Last two powerful blades, each as high, and long as two people began to spin. Then the blades became a blur.
“Blades working, im going down to the cargo bay to check out the mini truck. You drive” Stephen ordered. Kyle lookat the controls. A pilot hated driving. But when your driving an 20 tone 12 meters high killing machine you cant argue.
He hit the throttle and began to drive. Its two giant tracks moved carrying this megalith of monstrous metal forward as they headed for Sector 136.

Note from Writer. Hi, alright i know that was a bit boring :-( but dont fear! In the Next chapter the Crystal Reaper awakes the alien hive and the war for controle of mars beging! Well, you fear the next chaptet.... Aliens awake....

Im sorry, this is good material, but it needs pictures, other wise its not really a moc(I bet Sean would agree)and therfore should not be allowed on this site. Remember this for chapter 4! Oh and don't tell me not to enforce the law of MOC pages!
