The design was based on the Scorpion Tank known from the Halo games,
I however made my own interpretation because I don't have enough good grey parts and I do not have the skills nor the patience for a decent accurate replica. Furthermore I really wanted to use my skull printed panel I got from the Skull's Eye Schooner.
In short : this is the kind of modification you get when you give Mister Bones a Scorpion tank, I wonder what he shoots at, I hope it are all those masterchiefs that keep asking where my masterchief is (in the comment section below).
However, this tank stands out nevertheless, it is MOTORIZED, it can ride in forward direction,
because there's only one motor I can't make it steer in another direction though but I think it's pretty impressive to have great working suspension and motor in such small model.
notice the typical sound of the tracks, caused by the rattling chains and maybe also because the motor's gears are worn out :S
I'm planning to use more youtube movies rather then pictures,
To describe functionality a movie is far superior to an image.
This is the motor I used (picture found on lugnet-peeron, click picture to see source)
The suspension works great, each track pod is connected to the chassis by a shok absorber and external drive shaft.
The suspension works great as long as I don't overload the tank with too heavy luggage. If it was a problem there's an easy sollution at hand. There are shok absorbers available with the same dimensions but only stiffer.
I hope you like it,
I'll make a better one someday, maybe it will even be one more accurate to the actual halo scorpion tank, better colors, maybe I'll extend its functions (driving and steering).

It looks good. The only thing holding back 5 stars from me is that fact that you can't steer it or use lego IR power functions. If you add those in, then it will be the best Lego rendition of the Scorpion tank!
A steering ability would make it a lot better indeed. But I don't think I can make it steer, let alone using IR functions because that includes, beside the two motors, a battery box and a IR receiver, there doesn't seem to be room left in this small tank does it ? ;P

that is so epic it even sounds like a tank shame it canrt be wireless you should do a green halo 3 one that would be cool
yeah, wireless is pretty impossible, battery box and receiver would never fit.
I'm working on a new one but I'm not sure if green is the right color, the scorpion tank looks rather grey I think

it is pretty cool, but if you made the cannon's head a little bigger, and got rid of the skulls and chains, you would have a snow camo scorpian.
indeed, my new version will be dark grey, I'll base the design on the scorpion tank in >Halo Reach (the scorpion design changes in each game).
the cannon's head is already on top of my list, I want an accurate design this time

mmmmh! i like this, especially the suspension,i experimented a lot in that direction, once,it s unfortunate i don t have pics,i know how turning with 4 tracks can be difficult, with the suspension and weight, nicely stylised, and color schemed!
yes, turning is quite a job, the easiest way is to use 2 motors but that requires a bigger build. I don't think it's a big problem to make 4 tracks turn starting from a base that turns 2 tracks

Dit is een meesterwerk, de vering, het rijden, en het geluid maken het net als die van halo(ik weet dat het niet EXACT als de scorpion bedoelt is). 5/5
Very cool tank! Check out my Kolk if you have time.

This is so unfair, this tank looks moveing even cooler than standing around. Such a cool tank with motor, man I canīt belive that there is a motor inside.
I just watched the video, and all I can say is... I'm jealous. I've been working on my own new Scorpion Tank, and now I will feel vastly inferior if I can't make it motorized. The suspension effect is awesome too. Fantastic job! If I was a minifig, I'd hate to see this fearsome thing rolling up in my backyard.
Oh My Guard This Is Amazing How Can You Make Anything That Nice And Good But Next Time You Are Going To Shot Things Like That Then Please Remove Your From The Front Of The Camerea In The End Of The Movie ;) By The Way Check My New Moc's Out

Dude, this would be awsome if it could go everyother direction!!!!!! :)
Wow, I am amazed, someone made something unique from HALO. Since I just recently got a 360, I have just entered into the HALO games, having beaten HALO 1 and 2 on hard, haven't played 3 yet, but am getting ready too. I've been wanting to make HALO legos, but being that it is a well overdone field I've been a little chicken. Your creation gives me hope though!
Oh man that suspension system is so genius and creative.. good work at the video also.. I like how it got stuck at the notebook and then make it! tough tank ;) keep it up buddy :) >>> peace.. Fofo
oooh oohh! ohhh!!! OOOOH!!!! me likes!!! me going crazy here! i feel like there are a million gears turning in my head! adrenaline!!! aahh!!!! great job!
