This was an experimental build based on the general shape of the base which was to have been the bottom level of a giant keep. When I found that the brick requirement was probably too high; I came upon the idea of using as the basis of a whole castle.
The gateway was cut down into it. The extending part that was to have been the first (or second if you're American) floor gate-turret to the keep was removed and the foundation part of one of the turrets was greatly englarged to support the new keep in the castle.
The superstructure is all independently built: the three towers are identical, the barbican and the keep. The wall sections are separate too. The floors are all made from longer bricks (2x8s, 2x10s) supported by others acting as joists and columns.
This castle was demolished not long after being built due to it's large size and a lack of appropriate storage space. Had it not been demolished I had plans to add timber buildings in the bailey and re-design the ramparts.
