I read Tom Disch's classic "The Brave Little Toaster" to my daughter, and she liked it so much that we built the characters using the pictures in the book as reference.

Thanks! They were fun models to design. The vacuum cleaner took the most time. The toaster actually has slots for bread and red tiles inside for the heating elements.

I watched the movie once or twice when I was little. I always thought it was a nice cheery children's story until I saw it again more recently and realized just how depressing a story it really is.
