About this creation
Alright everybody, it’s time to bust out those horned-rims with the tape, put on your “I survived order 66” t-shirt, grab your favorite Hostess product, and get your geek on with a new bit of Star Wars inspired SHIPage!
Now initially I wasn’t planning on making this much of a MOC. I began with the notion that I’d throw together just a little something to pass the time while I was sorting the unholy, sky-high mound of ABS that’s somehow managed to accumulate in my work space. But, given that the word “small” doesn’t seem to be in my vocabulary (Snarky comment? Anyone? Anyone?), this little diversion soon turned into (cue dramatic theme music)…a project.
So here she is. I gave her the name Rusty Ferret in honor of a long-standing joke between myself and the nefarious Mr. Phipson. It’s actually in reference to…uh…to…hmm…Ya know what? Not gonna go there. I’d end up like Ralphie in a Christmas Story with our illustrious Sean Kenney washing my mouth out with Lifeboy. Look Sean! This is me behaving myself!
You might have noticed several modifications from the original Crusader Class design on my WIP page. I liked her general form, but also decided to take some healthy liberties with the aesthetics. At first I just tried drinking her pretty. That worked fine until the next morning when I woke up…
then, yeeesh!
Finally I realized “Hey, this is my Lego creation, I’ll change whatever the hell I want.” But for those of you who need an explanation for the changes, let’s see…
She’d fallen into an horrendous state of disrepair and then while visiting Yoda at his beach front Timeshare on Kashyyyk, I was the lucky recipient in WTV’s (Wookie television’s) Pimp My Gunship…
After a weeks worth of alterations, this new “bitchin” version was revealed, and even Yoda himself proclaimed the ship “Too Fly for a white guy.” Right then, moving on…
Here are some close-ups to calm the savage greeble-beast within you.
I originally had some wimpier cannons atop the forward dorsal section, but after Joris Block emasculated me with his incessant nagging about the need for “bigger guns,” I crawled shamefully back to the drawing board and beefed up the security.
This section includes what might possibly be the most challenging element to the original design…those tubular, bent, pipe-like thingies. Eventually I came up with the idea of placing tires between wheels to achieve the bend. I’m actually really pleased with the way that came out, and the technique could have applications for other things as well…mechs, microscale tunnels, battery operated feminine devices for…Hi, Mr. Kenney.
So while I was scoping out ideas for a build, I ran across these…thought I’d share:
How To Tell If You Are a Star Wars Geek
If you pass out trying to move a pencil across your desk with the Force…
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you get your head stuck in a bucket pretending your Darth Vader…
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you put on a luminous colored condom and walk around humming like a light-saber…
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you name your right hand 'Leia'….
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you listen for Obi-Wan while attempting to parallel park…
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you fail to get the last Cheerio in the bowl and mutter, "The Force is strong with this one"…
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If before sex, you look down and say "Get in there, you big furry oaf, I don't care what you smell!"…you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you have a tan line from your Darth Vader helmet….
you might be a Star Wars geek.
If you took the time to read all of these stupid jokes…
you might be a Star Wars geek, and most certainly have WAAAAY too much time on your hands.
Not what I’d normally envision if someone said “a Ferret’s back side,” but there it is.
And a few Pin-up shots…
Work it, baby!
Yeah...sexy!
And now all I need to do is sell it for…

Can't believe, that i didn't have looked throught these brilliant pics, and jokes earlier! I like the crusaders anyway, but YOU have made it much more sexy. The features, and greebles are even more fascinating, than that of your IVH. I will take the impressions home, and recycle them, when i will start building my Minifig-Mandalorian-Frigate. Thanks, and cheers, chief! |

"Why haven't I commented on this before?" is a question that has baffled mankind for centuries. Anyway, this is phenomenal! The size of this is mind-blowing, and the details are incredible. You've expertly mixed colours, textures, and greebles to created a clean, yet weathered masterpiece. The shaping and angles are perfect, I cannot imagine how long it took to figure out the skeleton. Seeing the above/frontal view was really interesting, as it looks so much different than the other views. It's almost as if it's a completely new ship! Your amazing build (NO, I'm not talking about your six pack) is terrific on its own, but you took the time to write a funny and effective commentary. After seeing Austin Powers last week, the last photo is especially hilarious. Great work! Also, how many studs long is this? |

Un...be...lievable. How does this not have a rating from me? I know I've been here before; I guess amongst the drooling, cursing, self-pleasure, shame, composing of death threats, remorse, more self-pleasure, construction of voodoo love-doll and subsequent defiling of said doll, I must have gotten side-tracked and forgot to rate and comment. That or the Pages were running exceptionally slow that day, who knows. On a side note, I think that if you stick with it, you'll get really good with this LEGO thing someday...~H |

Stumbling back on this MOC months after you posted it, I've realized that my original comment never made it past moc page censorship. So instead of saying something that might give me the same outcome (as much as I'd like to tell you that "Rusty Ferret" would make an excellent P___-star moniker), I'll give you something constructive to chew on. This ship is amazing no doubt (AS EVERYTHING ELSE YOU DO IS), but you should venture out of the realm of microscale spaceships and give us some large and in charge minifig SHIP. You've got the pieces. You've got the talent. But do you have all the Pokemons?? Get on that Kelso. |

Quoting SHARPSPEED A95 hey, if i sent you an invite to join my group, would you? its not a noobish group like that "945th legion" or whatever it is.....
In all honesty, I don't do too many groups. Please understand it's certainly nothing personal. The select groups that I am with keep me busy with emails, sometimes hundreds (and I don't want to disable the email setting because I moderate), and I have to really limit myself to the number of groups I join. Thanks very much all the same, though...good to be in demand! |

Good Brick!!! How the he11 did I miss this?! Amazing build Kelso. Now try for a 30 foot toaster. (I happen to use the word toaster a lot. It has a funny sound...TOE-STIR.) This one time, in band camp, a toaster threw up on a squirrel while eating a cannibal hanging from a tree unplugged. ADD alert! PS: I bet you 30 bucks that I have the most random and messed-up humor on MOCpages, and about the whole world. I tend to keep it hidden on MOCpages. I wouldn't want to taint its good name. Haha, I said taint. I think I should take my ADD pill now. Sorry to make you victim of my random outburst. Brick you and your pet llama! Wait what?! ~Phong Chang |

It must be good. Anyone under 15 wants you bad ;D my favorite part is the natural split in the front part of the ship, where the larger side panels seem to break into the bottom panels that angle towards the ship- having the line between the two angles correspond irregularly was a neat trick, and a nice opportunity to show some "inner workings" these things HAVE to have. Well played.
Just don't take up comedy. :-) |

Step 1... Damit!!! Works every frickin' time... Well I just don't get it. There are at least five times as many grey bricks in this as my entire collection! I hate to get all 'n00b'-ish and start praising you, but your lego creations go beyond skill. Its more like you're channeling thoughts and just materializing them out of legos. Not just kinda-sorta-trying-to-make-it-look-like-it creations; this is a true replica of an idea! Really, it gives me a headache just thinking about it. Whatever man, I'm gonna go look for some Tylenol. Peace - Patrick |
