This is my halo 2 Scarab. Nothing against the Halo 3 one, I just like this one better. It was bigger, badder and simpler. The new one confused me when I first got on it. Plus that one is way too bulk for my taste, no wonder it keeps dropping down as you shoot it.

I love that main gun!
Not to scale with other vehicles, but very close, here it is with a ghost.
I added side cannons like the phantom
The head is a bit too big but those curves are tough to get right. I could of made the whole thing bigger too, but then it would be too big to stand on its own.
Yes that's right it stands on its own. In these pics however the bottom joints were not finished cause I didn't have the right pieces. Its done now and does still stand on its own.
For dramatic effect here it is crawling over the blanket. The other three legs are conveniently covered up as the gray bottom joints were unavailable at the time to complete it.
Here it what all the legs look like now. It still stands and walks fine. Had to super-glue that very last inverted slope piece to the gray block as that two to one plate between them could take it alone.

I think the Halo Wars Super Scarab and the Halo 2 Scarab are the same. They look similar, are tough to kill, do tremendous damage and are bigger than regular scarabs. In fact on this page here http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Type-47_Ultra_Heavy_Assault_Platform you can scroll down to the Super Scarab section about halfway down and in there they even mention how similar they are. If I modified this one a little, it would BE the Super Scarab so why build a whole new model? The regular Scarab is my only real challenge since it has such and odd shape and big long slopes. |

Technically this one is a super scarab, that's why only a few were seen in halo 2 and they were impossible to destroy, the halo 3 and later scarabs were much easier to take out but I haven't gotten to them yet. |

Yes he is to scale with most of my other minis, in fact the 5th pic down you can see the ghost. The head does not effect his weight, his body does as it has many plates that when compacted weigh more than the head which is a few wedges. He easily has a center mass for stability. Some leg hinges might ware with excessive play and allow him to fall over. I don't really play with mine, he sits on my xbox and has since october with no problems. |

Send me your email and I will send you the pic of the parts for the leg, head and upper deck and how they should go together. You'll have to make the body on your own, mine is hollowed out a bit to reduce weight and save bricks but it can support more solid construction if you were to glue certain leg pieces together. Size is critical as too much weight will make it drop. |
