Orient Hotel Rebuild
Rebuilding the Orient Hotel
About this creation
After having spent 10 months in storage (as it was taking up way too much space), its time to rebuild the Orient Hotel for its next outing

First, sort out the bags. The hotel is in the top group. (The other bags are the port and two stations for my monorail.)

Laying out the baseplates and ground works. So that's where almost 400 2x2 tiles go!

Checking for clearances (fortunately the red Bullet Monorail Train never comes this way).

2200 pieces placed - about one third of the way

3200 pieces placed - almost half way

The rarely seen stained glass window above the reception desk. Also the "time zone" clocks.

The rarely seen mosaic floor in front of the reception desk

The rarely seen map wall along one balcony wall

The roof garden is complete and the plants are in. Bet the next lot of builders on site trample them all though!

EARTHQUAKE!!! Ummmmmm ..... no. Just the rear half of the roof garden being slid out so the foyer and reception desk can be viewed

The removable rear section of the roof garden

   Portico, statue and onion dome

4500 pieces and its getting bigger!

A couple of hundred (well 500 to be precise) parts for the roof ...

... and some old manky parts for internal strength ...

... and its done! 5300 pieces - how am I going to move it?

Hang on I hear you cry! He said 6500 parts where are the other 1200?

Well, the gardener has to do something (there are just under 300 stems made up - anyone want to offer to do the ones in the bags for me?)

I don't see how anyone can't give this a 5 out of 5. You worked out so many tiny details like the stained glass window, it's not even funny. The architecture is near perfect and you gave us a great look at how you made it. Keep it up, man!

Oh, it's beautiful. I love the detail. Looks so great from the outside, and the color scheme is good, too. One thing--it's a bit small. I think you should just make it a personal mansion instead. Once again, good job. -Josh
