Powerplant: 4x DominTech 250 Horsepower Self Contained Electric Engines combining to give 1000 Horsepower total.
This is another of my builds that started out as something different. Originally the design was supposed to be an APC similar to the modern day Stryker. It used to have a flat bed but a somewhat tall crew compartment dropping down to a stick thin bed looked a little out of proportion, so I added the cargo container on the back and that gave me the idea to turn it into a cargo transport of some sort.
Right off the cuff you can see the red digital eyes. Originally being an armored combat vehicle, the NSV made use of (like most of my other recent builds) digital eyes because a glass windshield seemed a little flimsy for something that is supposed to be shot at so I switched to the eyes. That, coupled along with a similar shape of the Wolverine Hover Tank and the comment that the tank looked Post-Apocalyptic gave rise to idea to directly involve this vehicle in salvage of irradiated materials such as power cores, circuit boards, batteries and fuel rods, along with any other contaminated materials.
Despite being used for peaceful purposes this vehicle still uses thick sloped armor en case any salvage goes critical. Also in theory (and if available) the NSV can be magnetically coated with ferrite (iron dust) which is air sprayed on as a third way to help protect the crew and components from radiation. It also helps reduce cleaning costs since the actual armor doesn’t have to be changed out constantly. The vehicle actually happens to have a built in magnetic system so the iron itself isn’t sticking to the vehicle. To be cleaned of the magnetic system is deactivated, the ferrite dust vacuumed off and finally decontaminated and reused.
Because of its large roomy cabin I was able to include a lot of detail.
This vehicle is complicated enough to require three to operate the vehicle; a driver for obvious reasons, an engineer for operating the magnetic shielding, hydraulics and cargo bed and a communications operator for communicating with the base, operating the radar and locating irradiated objectives.

This is the engineer station as you can see he has a lot of screens, gauges and buttons to operate.
Aside from the crew stations I also installed extra seats, a tool station and oxygen tanks for recycling air as well as for storage when the doors are open in low gravity or contaminated environments.
This is the top of the vehicle. You can see the large radar dome as well as numerous storage racks, and magnetic generators.
This vehicle has built in symmetrical two-section doors that open wide as well as form a pseudo ramp for crew to get in and out.
The bed also raises and lowers for loading and unloading cargo.
Raised: The more articulated a build is, the happier I am. As a recap on features: fully independent suspension, dual opening doors, an articulated bed, and a partially opening driver hatch are included.
Lowered: In between the main eyes are infrared scanners that give the engineer an idea of how rough the terrain is notifying him of how to much to raise or lower each wheel (as well as the computer assistant) giving this big vehicle surprising mobility over the roughest terrain.
This is the Nuclear Salvage Specialist. His job is of course to salvage irradiated material. I only have one, but the NSV can carry three fully equipped.
His gear includes an isolated environment suit, helmet, air tanks, and a handling device.
