'Cuz everyone loves a good live action diorama!
About this creation
This is it. This is the last round of one of the greatest MOC-offs ever. Get ready all ye judges! ROUND THREE IS UP!!!
Round one: JD Luse
Round two: Will Thomas
Round three: ????
This round KILLED me. Thankfully I have nine lives, so I still have four left…No really, it was tough. I started with one 32x32 baseplate, it grew to four 32x32 baseplates, and then shrunk back down to two 32x32 baseplates. Just the right size. =)
I won’t have a back story for this round because it’s pretty self explanatory. (Not much, just an unarmed solar energy plant is attacked by two very powerful enemy robots but are counter-attacked by a small group of independent Elite Marines who are clearly losing the battle but bravely refuse to let any more harm come to the vulnerable plant workers who are trying to protect their expensive paraphernalia which is one of the greatest technological advances of all time in the natural power and alternative fuel realm.)
See? You knew all that without me boring you with a history lesson! Right? Guys?
Good. Now here’s a tour of this action shot. Don’t you love these newfangled 3D models?
Here we have the foundation of this whole MOC: The Solar Panels. I'd say they're the greatest invention since pop-tarts.
*Sigh* If only you didn't have to have so much of the stuff to power so little.
Actually, a twelve year old kid just invented a 3D Solar Cube that collects like ten time more than a regular one. Do you know how he started? LEGO.
Really! I'm not joking!
Blinding flash!!!! (It's actually a good picture)
Here's the inside of the powerhouse.
MAN these pictures were hard to take for some reason! I have no idea why, but I just couldn't get any good ones. =(

Thanks to Jonathan Thomas for the barrel design. =)
"Blast 'em!"
"B-b-b-b-blast t-them!!!"
Here's our shorty robo dude...
...and here's our lanky robo dude who is taking out the turret tower. (FROZEN ACTION BABY, YEAH!!!)

There are so many details (yes, details) so I'm just gonna throw up a bunch of pictures and you can skim through them instead of me talking about each one.
Yes siree, while you look, I’m gonna sit here blinking and smile smugly like an insulted politician.

In that little garage right there...
...is a cute little solar-powered droid!

Here's a hover vehicle that didn't fit on the dio. You can judge it as part of the MOC if you want, Judges, but it's not that great.

Well, that's it! Sorry I didn't get very good pictures of the inner workings and none of inside the tall building. I'm just glad it's over. =)
Our awesome judges:
Caleb Blanchet
Aaron Andrews
Chris Phipson
My awesome opponent:
Will Thomas
This was a fun MOC-off wasn't it? Thanks for all the comments and encouragement! Now I'm gonna go add on to Luseville...

Woah, this has been the toughest round yet. I have gone over & over each entry, scrutinised each pic, I have been staring at these two pages for close to an hour, trying to come up with a winner. Both creations are very creative & quite awesome, but I am going to have to give this round to Will. Although I think JD did a fantastic job, as usual, Will won out ever so slightly on detail & minifig action. This was a really hard MOCoff to judge, & I am proud you guys asked me to be a part of it. Well done to both of you! |

Very hard decision...But I think yours has less detail. Even though I think it makes yours cleaner and is a better build. The flame is genius, and The overall look of everything gives yours a genuine 'SCI-FI' feel, so My vote is for you...now we have to wait for...DARKSPAWN! |

Great stuff. Solar panels and grey theme hit it home. your judges apparently can't make up their mind, unless i'm missing something there needs to be round 4. |

JD, This is some really amazing work. Both you and Will really upped your games here. I think these last two entries are the best yet! That being said, I now know what the judges for the MocOlympics are going through. This was a really tough decision. In the end, I gave the nod to Will. And not just because he made fun of me sleeping on the job. Both of these are WAY above par but I think his details were just a little bit better. And by little I mean if his was a 10, your's is a 9.999. It was that close. As a matter of fact, it was so close that you guys should do another one, just to make sure... Now, let's see what the other judges have to say. ~ Chris. |

You call that a run on sentence? My grandmother could do better! ;) I love the solar panels, JD, and the buildings are very sturdy-lookin'. Although, I must point out that you entitled this "Round Two" rather than "Round Three". |

Wow, JD! This MOC's seeing more action than Chris Phipson at a Fruitbooting convention! (ten bucks says he has to look that one up.) It's got it all...guns, driods, blood, rambling off-topic humorus commentary. What more could anyone want, I ask you? (I'm setting myself up for SOMETHING there... just not sure what.) |
