U.S.S. Enterprise as seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek 2, and Star Trek 3.
About this creation
Enterprise Model inspired by Maskatron (a.k.a. Corey Sanders)
Glowing brinks created by work by Tore Eriksson
Decals created by Scott Wardlaw's Lego CAD Sticker Generator.
The first two pictures show the actual model without lighting effects. The MOC is white, but appears to be gray due to low ambient light. The spotlights were created in POVRay. You can probably light the model as shown, but you would need to drill the lego to make room for the lights and wiring.
The Enterprise is buildable: all of the pieces are properly connected to each other but some pieces may not exist in the shown color (the only problem pieces are parts of the impulse engines: the 6 x 6 octogonal plate, which is only made in black and yellow, and the round 2x2 tile, which does not come in transparent blue).
Also like the real Enterprise, it cannot survive in a gravity well. In other words, you can build this in outer space, but on planet Earth, you are probably going to need super glue or epoxy! The weight of the primary hull is probably too much for the connecting dorsal, and the weight of the nacelles probably cannot be supported by the hinge joints and pylons.
The refit Constitution class, one of the most beautiful Starfleet ship classes, IMHO (right after the Sovereign class) - you captured it in all its beauty here :-) The looks from different angles provide a good proof that you accurately reproduced the shape.
