This chunk is from my lego gum gun. So it's a pretty good mech.
About this creation
This is the whole thing. Again the peices in light grey are the main mechanics.

The other side. The gears are there to slow everything down to give you the ability to load more rubberband. You MUST have the big gear followed by the medium, followed by the small. Other wise it won't work as well.
Just like the other semi-auto mechinism the rubberbands make the star peice spin but it's stopped by the triangle piece, and when you press the trigger it spins a quarter ways forward and is stopped again by the triangle peice.
When you let go of the trigger the star peice spins another quarter ways and shoots a rubberband, and is stopped by the triangle peice again.

Ok so here is my tip silva: First, cover the guns sides. Like for instance take lego pieces and make a wall that covers gaps. Because I made a gun one time and the guns side were weak and my gun blew-up in my hand from overload on my 5th rubberband. Another tip would be making the mechinism more stable. Like if it runs hard decrease the gear amount. If it runs too fast increase the gear amount. I hope this at least kind of helped you.

Ummm no it's not actualy... It's similar in the workings but not in the gearing at all.

I've been using this mech for the longest time(although I take no credit for it), and I must say that it really is one of the best RBG mechs out there. |

This is almost exactly the same as my mechanism except mine doesn't use the "star piece", If anyone would like to see my mechanism then check my page here. I'll be posting a picture in a few days time. |

I don't have the star piece but i do have loads of the little L piece and a few smaller bits to beef it up into a 4 pointed star. Do you think it would work with 4 points. I have all the other parts. |

awesome, I think this might work for me, but where do you get the massive 40 tooth gear ( I think) and the 3 sided part |

I got the gear from the motor set, and my friend gave me the star piece. |

Cool, so it uses the power of the band as the spinning movement to fire, right? |
