MOCOlympics Round 1: Ian McDonald Vs. Don Webber
Inconceivable!
About this creation

For my MOCOlympics match up,I received the topic "Guess the movie". Quite obviously I chose The Princess Bride, and more specifically the cliffs of insanity scene.

Alright so I know the cliffs in the movie were grey, not brown, but I took some creative liberty there, so sue me.

Here we have the "Man in Black" scaling the crazy cliffs to rescue his beloved Buttercup.

Up top Inigo Montoya awaits the arrival of his next opponent patiently.

He grasps the sword of six fingers as he watches The Man in Black swiftly ascend the cliffs.

Once he arrives they leap into action, both happy to have a worthy opponent for a change.

"Aw but you see..."

"I'm not truly left handed!"

"Aw, well coincidently..."

"Neither am I!"

*Warning, bad pictures and commentary on the actual set proceeding, You have been Warned"

Just an aerial shot.

The sides, yes, I cheated, get over it. Only the front and one side is actually brown, but come on, who ACTUALLY has enouph brown pieces to complete it that way (other than Kelso or Eggplant, remember kids rich, or in debt builders don't count.)

*End Crappy pictures and crappier commentary*

Characters:

"Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die."
His six fingered sword is yes, a custom.

So is the Man in Black's sword. I really liked how my characters turned out, regardless of the peach heads. I just couldn't pass up the chance to use that pointless Knightwing mask, so Inigo had to follow suit as well.

One last battle scene.

Well there ya go. Actually I think my opponent may have died, he won't even tell me if he's going to enter. Oh well, I'm sure he's just MOSTLY dead...

Yeah, just to confirm it in case you missed the results page, you're in for round two. I hear your opponent for round 2 is a pretty tough customer so get ready for him. ~ Chris.

I waited to review this until now because I was waiting to see if Webber submitted an entry. While we are still waiting for Kelso to confirm our disqualification of Webber, I'm pretty sure you will be going through to Round 2. Nice build and a great movie.

Great Build and movie pic. Seems like there are 3-4 people who didn't bother to turn in MOC's. Kind of takes the glory out of putting something nice like this together. But makes the judges job easier I guess.

Actually the majority of the brown bricks came from that MTT set. Seriously, this build is proof that it's worth the money.

INCONCEIVABLE! Ok, enough using that word people! The film choice is excellent (I expected something good, since you ARE a filmmaker after all). Great brown cliff you've built there. Yours brickly, Nick ("ElNickre")

Shaddix, you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means... Well Ian, you picked a GREAT movie to do. I'm very impressed with the whole package (bad choice of words with this crowd). Not sure if Don's gonna make the deadline. What's that? you want to go to round two? As you wish (unless Don posts REALLY soon). ~ Chris.

An EXCELLENT movie choice!!! That alone should score you the win. But then there's the stellar build quality which makes this awesome. I love the design of the cliff. Excellent detail. Nice work!

I always enjoyed that movie. That's a good version of the scene and the characters are great. A bit of imagination applied to a goofy part and look what you get. thanks for the smile. Have some back. garth
