The Pugslinger is a low-cost fighter developed by Necrotheon Spaceworks for poorer space systems.
About this creation
In an effort to sell their hardware to poorer star systems, Necrotheon Spaceworks developed the People's Universal Gunslinger (PUG). The PUG was an instant hit due to its low price and low cost of operation. Many impoverished systems could now flex their might in the universal arena.
Necrotheon Spaceworks touted the PUG, or Pugslinger as it was more affectionately known, as a means of hope and promise to these poor peoples and they went on to sell many, many units.
However, as a by-product of the Pugslinger's low cost - it didn't have the speed or firepower of modern starfighters and would almost always be easily beaten during battle.
The one exception is pilot Andolon Spitesayer who had more than 120 kills using his Pugslinger against some of the best machinery in the Universe. His ship is shown here.
The PUG uses many off-the-shelf parts to keep costs low.
