About this creation

MocOlympics Round 1: Me vs. Glorius Shadow

Classic Space: 2 seat attack ship. Pilot sits in the front, Gunner sits int he back.

Capapble of reaching speeds of 0.25 light speed.

Thrust is provided by the 2 large Thor Thrust Turbines

The central engins provides crusing impulse power.

Missle pods and an up-front anti-personal machine gun are the secondary armament. And the large vertical thrust shoot allows for powerful take off and landing, as well as mid air stops, and hover.

The main armamnet is two wing mounted Vice A-class Lasers

Rowsdower is a liitle more than upset at realising that his newly built baby is gonna be in the hands of two rookies fresh out of the acadamy.

Looking at it from high up.

He shows them the front driver's cockpit as well as the gunner's seat int he back

This is the only actual Classic Space piece I have, I found it when I was 7 in my grandma's basement, and I gave it the place of honor right behind the pilot.

And so, the two rookies take off for their first mission...

Bathroom Wall Commentary:

I love this ship :) And here's the link to Glorous Shadow's page:

Wow man, it was like I just had a bad trip and was sent back to my teen angst years... or it could have just been that burrito I had for lunch... Anyway, you pulled this off nicely. The category (and for you future competetors, pay attention) was designed to make you feel like you were looking at a set from the past and you pulled that off perfectly (and so did your opponent by the way. You both did an excellent job!). Good luck in round two! ~ Chris.

Whoa... definitely channels the Classic-space vibe, even with a few pieces that Classic-Space never used. Awesome work.

Nice work. This MOC screams Classic Space. Ahh...takes me back to the 80's (and early-90's). Excellent SNOT work as well.

Hmmm...it's the trans-green that makes this one my fave. I love the trans-green and you nay-sayers can stand behind his rockets. Keep It Studly Sir!

Interesting canopy design. I'm not sure I like the blue on the wings, or the blue-green combination.

You've already won, but I'll give you the sweep with my vote. It was a close match, but I think you captured the look a bit better. Have fun in round 2.

Woohoo! You get the win in my book! It's a unique design ya got there, yet still with plenty of that 80's smell we old Lego geeks know and love. Nice job.

Wow, this was the toughest decision yet! Classic space can be interpreted in many ways, as these two MOCs demonstrate. But using Chris’ stated criteria of “something that looks like it came from the eighties,” this ship fits the bill perfectly (despite the green windshield). Congrats…you’ve got my vote.

Yours has a very good overall design, and an exxelent interior. I think you win this one though, 3-0. Fantastic MOC!
