this is the second Construction Journal for my largest lego ship ever.
(I got that construction-journal business from Kelso's Invisible Hand)
It's not much but what I've made took some time to figure out and such,
It will be much easier working on my next entry now that I have a good boatbas
07 sept. 2008
The most difficult part of this creation is done,
I demolished some of my other creations (I wish I had all the bricks I wanted so I woudn't have to demolish my creations)
even my lego capacity is limited...
I managed to keep the Shadow intact... well, sort of,
the Dutchman needs 4 midsections... these ships have had a better time...
This part I had already shown in my first entry, the triple gun part was just a try-out, I will remake it later.
This is what I have now, the ship's base is finished, it has 4 gunports on each side.
the demon gun ports don't look like much, it was harder than I expected, I realize my ship is looking less and less like the Dutchman from pirates of the caribbean, it won't be an accurate version but I feel it will turn out to be a nice ship anyway.
I'm trying out some idea's for the cabine/stern
I widened the boat's base with two studs (1 on each sides)
the seaweed might be useful but I only have 8 pieces so I don't know yet where to use them.
This was it...for now,
In the next construction journal I'll be working on the cabine, I'll have build some more than I did now.
(I only had a weekend and there where a lot of other things I needed to do)
I love the front of the ship (stern, bow, something or other...whatever it is called). I think it would look great if you placed those seaweed pieces on the front and made them hang down, to make it look like it rose from the ocean. C ya~ElNickre
Its coming along great. Although, since I am a POTC geek, I might add that it be a bit longer. Or that couldjust be me. ;)
Save the seaweed and any other plant like parts for sail accents. Oh, and one more thing: you absolutly MUST build the organ! Tis the best part of the ship!

oh man! THIS.. even its not done yet! deserves 5 big smilies! here i can't say a lot except keep this great level up coz this gonna be a piece of art with no doubt, really i cant wait to c this ship done, and man as i told you; if this gonna took you to destroy all of your Lego creations just do it to achieve this ship to perfection!! great job bud! peace.. fofo
ah that's right, I now know why the ship is called the flying dutchman, it might have been a nickname for its captain too, the ship was able to sail any direction at full speed independent of the wind's direction, it "flew" over the waves...or something like that...
