About this creation
For the last two builds, I haven't had to buy any new pieces. I guess that means I have too many legos now. Sorry bricklink sellers!!
01 - The Keep is built in "dwarf" LegoMan Scale. I really enjoy building on this scale because you don't have to make it super big to seem really big. This is on a 64x64 base plate. Eggplant Island on the other hand was on 80x80 base.
02 - I call it Darkwater because the transblue tiles have black underneath it to make it look dark. I generally like the way that the water turned out. A lot of times with tiles, the grooves show ugly patterns etc.
03 - There are two wooden doors connected by a winding staircase beneath the waterfall. I actually built this is detail but its difficult to see. In the last pictures you can get a glimpse of the stairs
04
05 - This build uses the same amount of rock pieces as Eggplant's Deep, primarily because both interior and exterior stones were detailed.
06 Is it just me or does the back photo look like the Eiffel Tower if you squint your eyes? Eh, probably just me.
07 The waterfall.
08 - If you look on the leaves, there are some trans clear rounds that were used to act like water drops.
09
10
11 - The Top of the tower is offset 1/2 brick. Same thing with the stone walls. Offsetting a full brick seemed a bit too dramatic for small perimeter towers.
12
13 - The grotto. Originally was going to put a gold mine back here. But what fun is that?
14
15 Too bad this guy picked door #3. ANTS!!!

I really like the overall structure and feel. Very dreamlike! Dont know how to describe it...reminds me of the dreamlands in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
Only critique is the flat top of a couple rocks...looks a bit unnatural. Some more slopes would help a lot, even if it was a really shallow/low slope. |

Eggy, I love your castles, but this is one is definitely my favorite. The livable feel to it makes it the most realistic and functional to me. (For a bunch of plastic bricks anyway!) The details you include in landscaping, water and amenities for the populace is what I aspire to achieve! |

I could go on for a long time about how amazing this is so I will try to keep it short. First of all I have seen this alot of times and it has not gotten old yet! The whole moc is just amazing, I have bin working on a castle of my own for a while now and I keep on destroying and rebuilding it because I couldn't get it to look right then a few days ago I decided to use your mocs for insporation and since then my castle has bin going alot better! I can let you know when I post the castle if your interested. I realy hope you can get more time to make another casle until then I'll just have have to look at what you already finished. |

Sorry I wasn't able to get to this sooner. Love the staggered pyramidal composition you came up with for this castle MOC. It's a beautiful design. As usual, the details are outstanding. One of these days, maybe I'll get around to doing a castle over a falls, too...I used to do fantasy paintings like that, and this really brings back fond memories of those kinds of images. So, a belated congratulations on yet another absolutely outstanding build...I guess that's why you're the professor. (say hi to Gilligan and Mary Ann for me!) |

Wow, I really have to nit-pick to find just one flaw on this MOC, and that's all I could: The water off of the waterfall is bubbly and wavy for about 3-4 lego feet before magically becoming glassy calm. If you could come up with a way to get that effect, [with your building sk¡llz, I have no doubt you could] I could not come up with anything lacking, to any degree. Other than that miniscule detail, [which I can definitely overlook with the quality of the rest of the MOC] this is phenomenal. The interiors are great, the overall water affect is really good, the trees look fantastic, and the stone outcroppings on the outside are outstanding. I'd still give it a 5/5 if it was rainbow colored and you had a kustum W4RTTH0GG driving off the falls. |
