About this creation
Facing constant raids by armed bandits, the Kolesky family took matters into their own hands. Although short on weaponry, the one thing they did have as a large farm was heavy machinery and a 'never say it can't be done' attitude. Thus when they stumbled across an abandoned tank, they decided to mate it to a mobile crane and the "PITBULL" was born. Now it's time to take the fight to the raiders camp...(are any of you buying this backstory???)
Ok, after doing the PostApoc MOCoff with Zach, I've now got the bug (sayonara microscle!)
And I've seen some crazy PA stuff on Flickr so I thought why not. I've always wanted to have a tank turret strapped to a large truck of some kind. I was originally gonna sit it on a big lorry but then I thought if the turret could somehow be attached to the swivel where the crane was you could have a impromtu tank, of sorts. Don't know about the ceditability factor with a mobile crane carrying what must be around 20 tons of tank turret but what the hey! Here's the crane design I based it on:
And the tank turret is based ever so loosely on an Abrams. The front set of wheels has a crude steering (they turn but you have to pick up the whole thing and manually turn em! Don't laugh-it's a big accomplishment for me!) Also obviously I changed the drivers cab to the RIGHT side.

This kind of post apoc is so much cooler than zombie apocalypses. I really like the backstory, sounds enough plauseble to ever be true, but not to normal to be boring. I love the ragged, tough look of it. |

Looks impromptu, looks tough, looks cool. Depending on the chassis, the crane probably wouldn't have a problem carrying the turret; besides you didn't say the crane was standard, the family might've beefed it up (it definetly looks like it). I like this MOC a lot! |

I like the "building a dio" around this idea. You could call it "Mad Brix, Beyond LEGOdome"... I'll just go and sit in the corner for a while now cause that was bad even for me. ~ Chris. |

That's one horrific apocalypse, turning all those properly yellow minifigs that ugly peach color. Better not to have survived if that's the price paid. |

The right side you say? Don't you mean "the WRONG side?" Love the look of this. And might I say, "That's a mighty large cannon you've got there mister." Keep It Studly Sir! |

Easily the best post-apoc vehicle on MOCpages, bar none. Any plans on building a diorama around it? |
