Fast... but furious?... a bit, I guess...
About this creation
READ BACKSTORY
The ReConnaissance-40 Starfighter saw startlingly little use during its production. It was designed as a fallback in case its cousin, the ARC-170, proved dissatisfactory. It's great that the ARC-170 made it big, though; THIS vehicle wouldn't have! It's primary focus, as you can see by the large engines, is speed. It's flanked by 4 large engines, with only a twin pair of laser cannons and missile launchers. Its primary mission is to outmatch the ship in speed, not weaponry! It shares S-foils and cooling radiator panels, but they're flip-flopped, the two miniscule panels in between the engines. As an added side effect, squadrons of RC-40s are harder to deal with than one, because they're so speedy, they're collision-prone with each other more often than not.
Jex actually bought this vehicle, and cherishes it. He keeps it in top shape, and is extremely careful with the accelerator, only doing so in bad situations. While having many glitches the later T-65 X-Wing would fix, it was still a functioning craft that got Jex out of every sticky situation.
Here's the underside with the ship in attack position. Like I said, those engines are large. The Hyperdrive Ring provided plenty of white and dark blue pieces, I got the idea originally from the engines!
Underside with S-foils in. Sorry for the glare, I was standing on chairs to get the right angles! (I had to prop it up on the back; the wings are so heavy, they sag....)
Topside with wings in! FUN FACT: This pic is upside down, no joke!
Here's a side photo, zoomed in to show you this side's laser cannon and missile launcher. Now BEFORE you rate me low for having that particular piece for the laser cannon, HERE'S the explanation: If you were to interpret this in real life, the laser cannons would look exactly like that.
Here we see Jex climbing out from his craft. For his age, he's surprisingly strong! TAKE NOTE of the storage area behind the cockpit to put his power pack into!
A nice pic of the landing gear extended. Told ya they sag.... ):
Finally, Jex decides to leave us in the dust. There you have it, folks, the Knaar Pirates have left the system!!

If the wings weren't grey, but white, I'd buy it if it were a set. |
