A serious house on serious earth.
About this creation
The Ikea Lamp Gangsta is taking on the Batman universe. Wish me luck.

Care for a tour?Mr. Nygma's padded cell:Ms. Isley's atrium:Mr. Crane's cell block:The newest inmate, Mr. Dent, is adjusting nicely, though he's been flipping that coin nearly every waking minute.Come again soon.

BONUS MATERIAL:
A work-in-progress shot of the exterior:I hate building exteriors. It's really not my area of expertise. I'm a 'intimate quarters' kind of person. That sounded dirty.
An alternate, brighter shot of the Scarecrow's cell block:I'm getting a lot of mileage out of that gray checkered floor.
An alternate set-up: Poison Ivy's escape.
The Riddler's cell was by far the easiest thing I've ever built. If only they were all so simple.
As for Two-Face, I haven't actually got him. The only Two-Face minifig I own is on a chain, attached to a key ring, along with my keys. So I had to get inventive with the Two-Face shot. There's no body behind the bars: just two arms propped up.

The cell door frames were inspired by the stereotypical image of jail cells, the kind with metal plates and stubby rivets, as well as the use of jumper plates in a Lego masterpiece called "The Last Seconds of the Yamato" by Christophe Bongay. |

The exterior boggled my mind ... I've never tried a project like you're doing, but your fantastic builds are pushing me in that direction...not yet, but maybe in a few months. |

Shannon - I don't detect enough sarcasm to convince me to play along, so I'll be honest with this one. My pretty little pictures are done with one piece of equipment: a $7 Ikea lamp. Thus, the Ikea Lamp Gangsta is yours truly. Nicknames aren't exactly my forte. |

I'm not up on the Batman universe, haven't seen the latest movie yet. Is this "Ikea Lamp Gangsta" a new villain or something? |

Another gorgeous set of photographs and interiors; I love looking at your posts! The "behind-the-scenes" shots are always interesting, too. Can't wait to see what you do next! |

God, I love the work you do! Great pics as usual, and some really nice touches. Love the tile work on the padded cell, the jumper plate borders on the doors, and the cell work. I know it's nothing extraordinary technically speaking, but the MOCs are really clean and consistent, and your pics give them such great atmosphere. I'd love to see more of the Asylum if you're up for making this a series! |
