Wrecked Hanger
A ruined hanger.
About this creation
COMPLETED--07/30/2008

This is my entry for the Picking up the pieces contest on the flickr group Apocalego. I started way to late on July 27 (contest deadline is the 31st) but was able to pull off my idea since I just organized my Lego collection into something better than by color in ice cream buckets... Just a warning, the pics might not be so hot since I don't have access to my regular editing software. Here we go --- The results of almost a year of recovery from almost being stepped on by the Giant. Molly and her trusty robots, Ox, Centaur and Twolee, work to ensure an escape to Moonbase 15. Molly's red ship has been repaired; in it lies her father who is now comatose from being struck by falling debris. Molly's father's green ship must also be somehow repaired. All the while the threat of the return of the Giant weighs heavily on Molly's mind.
Molly repairs the power panel hoping to fully charge the red ship so she can send her father to their friends on Moonbase 15. The solar power gathered by the power panel travels to an energy/fuel converter that refuels the ships.

Molly tries to continue with her work without being distracted by the Giant as it destroys the city across the bay.

Twolee was damaged pretty badly when the Giant nearly crushed the hanger: his left wheel and arm aren't working now. He can still man the control deck though.

Without Ox, tons of fallen debris would still be piled up in the hanger. Repairing the green ship seems hopeless.

Ox was able to lug the green ship's engine to the lift and now Centaur can try to get it back to a flight worthy condition.

Without the green ship, Molly will be stuck on Earth.

Robots Centaur and Twolee go about their jobs.

Molly's father lies in a comma in Molly's red ship: he and his green ship were both crushed by the falling debris. The engine is being refueled.

Thanks for viewing and possibly even reading!

Sorry I haven't been posting, I've been away from home and a computer for the past several weeks. Anyway, I like the detail and the sense of controlled chaos in this photo; based on the other entries I've seen in the Classic-Space forums, this is definitely a serious contender. Great job!

Realllllly detailed, but perhaps too detailed for my taste. I like it still. I don't follow the story line either, but hey, who cares? When you read a book, sometimes all you care about are the pictures!
