S.H.I.P Work In Progress (Stage 2)
The SHIP has been greatly lengthened to 115 studs long...
About this creation
After a while of conceptualizing my designs and buying some much needed parts I have almost finished the SHIP which now measures 115 studs long! By doing this I believe I have accomplished a few firsts... 1. Youngest person to make a SHIP. 2. First 12 year-old to make a SHIP. 3. Largest Mars Mission MOC. 4. First Mars Mission SHIP! All I need to really do now is finish the engine nacelles and finish the interior. I already have six beds, a pilots console, commanders chair, and a 0-g toilet/shower. I am planning to make a computer console with a 0-g Wii (just incase the astronauts get bored), a 0-g sink and some cargo racks for the roof. Ideas are welcome!

Here we have the habitation module (aka. the living space). This is were the astronauts and pilots eat, talk, sleep and go to the "loo" in. Currently The living space can hold ten astronauts comfortably or 12 making it slightly more cramped. I probably wont change anything here, I think ten astros is a good number. Note the cockpit SNOT, this was one of the hardest parts of building the SHIP. I had to carefuly weave my hands through the framework and painfully snap in each piece, one by one, this took half an hour!

In this teaser we can see the spinal framework. This is used not only to hold the ship together but also to hold the mini Snub Fighters on. After a few simple calculations I should be able to hold 6-8 snub fighters on the framework.

Here we have the main engine pod. Two more engine nacelles will be added, one on each side. When done the spacecraft will kinda' look like something between the Rebel Blockade Runner and the ship from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Thats all for Stage 2, check back later for stage 3 of my SHIP Work In Progress soon! As I said above, ideas are welcome! If you have any ideas for the name I would really like to hear them. NOTE: Sorry I dont have a picture of the full ship, I just dont have a background yet that will fit the SHIP. When Stage 3 comes along I will have a picture of the whole spacecraft.

Build On!

Thanks I've been working on it lately, but I need some more bricks. So I guess I'm the 2nd 12 year old the has attempted to make a SHIP. I'll probably get a lot done this weekend.

I guess I am the first twelve year-old to make a SHIP then since mine, even though its a WIP, its already over 100 studs (its 115). I just want to clarify things. By the way, nice job on your WIP SHIP cockpit. I suggest adding some greebs beside of the canopy.

Its ok. Mine is a WIP too but I only have some of the cockpit done... so you have more finished. Mine should be on my home page or under Ships section.

Sorry I deleted your first comment, my computer glitched up. If you were the first then I guess I am the first 12 year-old to make a mars mission SHIP. Where is your SHIP, I can't find it on your page. BTW, how long is your SHIP? Mine is 115 studs.

Actually I am the first 12 year old to make a SHIP. I don't know if I am younger or older than you though. Mine was on MOCpages first. I really like the sphere thingies in the front. Anyway nice job!

I'll look forward to more pics. Meanwhile, I might suggest a bit more orange somewhere in the design, or perhaps a decal or two to give it the "Mars Mission" appearance.
