Update: 2/1/10 - My very first post on MOC pages gets MotD! Thanks for all the love. Since this post I've doubled the height of the batcave by adding an underground waterfall and river. I've also been retooling the brickwork on the manor in anticipation of it's public display at Brickworld '10. See you there!
Dave your creation is so cool!!!
Can you send a picture of it to the LEGO company so they could make it into a smaller set?
Have you included details inside the manor like rooms and kitchens?
Who is the minifigure in the door way to the manor?
Do you know how many pieces you used to build it?
Your creation is the best lego thing I have ever seen!! It has so much detail and the Batcave is so amazing.
Sincerely, Benjamin Curtin

I can't believe this got second prize in Lego®'s contest. (I can't believe I actually put the ® sign after what they did.) There are no words to describe how big this is. (A whale of a, ample, awash, brimming, bulky, bull*, burly, capacious, chock-full, colossal, commodious, considerable, copious, crowded, enormous, extensive, fat, full, gigantic, heavy-duty, heavyweight, hefty, huge, hulking, humongous*, husky, immense, jumbo, mammoth, massive, mondo, monster*, oversize, packed, ponderous, prodigious, roomy, sizable, spacious, strapping, stuffed, substantial, super colossal, thundering, tremendous, vast, voluminous, walloping, whopper, whopping. Here's one from us as well! Everything Mark said, and more...and Congratulations on winning the "Best MegaSculpture" category at BW...there were some great nominees, but this thing is an incredible accomplishment! All of you who love this would love it THREE times as much if you saw it up close! John and I are very honored you're interested in being part of our "Octobrickfest" Show...we'll e-mail you soon!
Yeah, I could've emailed ya. But after seeing this in person, 154 "I like its" aint even CLOSE to enough. So here's one more. Just wanted to say thanks once again for your help at Brickworld, with both the unloading/loading and the MOCpages display - you're a scholar and a gentleman! Here's hoping we can hang again next year, and in the mean time...see ya here on the boards!
WOW!! sure is BIG!! INCREDIBLE detail inside & out especially the Batcave. I can see you put a lot of thought behind this. It's a blend of different building skills, GREAT piece of art! I'll be rolling out a Batcave soon(after some Star Wars creation)... :)
I'm probably right when I say you snet a lot of time on this set. This is a set that's build during a couple of months. Lots of respects for checking all the scales and measurements building the whole set. I like to build also, but as so far I've seen this is completely new for me. Well not completely, there are some Lego builders who've done different complexes like castles and police buildings etc. but I've never seen a Batcave developed like this piece of scale art.
Well, I know I commented on the 'Halloween Manor', but apparently not this version. That's why we have MOTD, so dill-rods such as myself get a chance to drool over stuff we somehow missed. I wanna play with it soooo bad!~H
OH MY GOSH !!!!! That is amazing. You have just been added to my favorite builders. If sold that,it would probably cost.... 9,000,000,
ooo. You must be a master builder like Sean
Kenny a.k.a manager of mocpages.com!!!!! I gave
you a total 5/5.
Had seen this when I was only lurking and not commenting and thought then it was one of the most impressive things on these here pages. I'm something of a Batfan, so some of the touches like the giant penny are pure gold to me. For sheer scale, details and overall build quality this is pure genius. Well done.
did you get moc of the day because this is just amazing oh and can you check out my ne wbatman comic even i admit its not perfect and i need ideas for a secodn episode

I got my Lego magazine today also, you really should have won! If you have it and go to Lego.com and then go to third prize winners theres a bunch better than a couple other creations shown. Yours is the best!!! Build forever, hey that should be a club LOL.

Please add me to The Brick Knights group. Thanks. :)
That is amazing. How long did it take you to build it? This is the version from the comics when they moved the Batcave towards Gotham Harbor after the earthquake right? Anyways I love the batcave and I don't prefer gargoyles on Wayne Manor.
Why don't you write in about this piece? It would put more "you" in it. I must now how you found the parts that match colors. you should check out some of my creations, though not as imoressive or resourceful.
...... ye-ah... I think that unless your getting payed for this(or just have "that" kind of money to throw out there on legos), Don't get me wrong cause i'd love to do this too, But I think you might have lost your mind man.
Holy cow...that is awesome. Massive cut-away dioramas always get my attention - especially if they're as good as this one - but this one just blew me away. Now pardon me while I go get a paper towel to clean up the drool on my keyboard. =)
Your Batman stuffs are truly awesome, must be a lot of work to do such great MOCs !!!
One advice : if you don't know the MOCpage of Watson K13, you should see it, he has made ALL the different versions of the Batmobile, it can be interesting for you :)
Now that I've had a moment to compose myself... What, no interiors? You'll find that we like to joke with each other here on mocpages a lot. That being said, welcome aboard! We have a very tight nit family atmosphere going on around here... disfunctional yes, but a family none the less. That Kelso guy is kinda like the cousin no one likes to talk about but we'll touch more on that later (he's actually one of the coolest guys here). So good to have ya! ~ Chris.
Works like this come along once in a blue moon here on MOCpages. What a rare and fantastic creation! The amount of detail is tremendous and I'll look forward to checking this out many times to enjoy all of the intricacies. I'm sure it took a tremendous amount of time, but it was well worth it. An absolutely stunning MOC!
Amazing! The giant penny in the Batcave is my favorite touch - it looks really good. I don't even want to think about how much it cost to accumulate enough gray bricks to build that enormous manor, but maybe you got a special grant from the Wayne Foundation to pay for it all, LOL...
