Tiling the doors was a technique I first noticed in LEGOland, Billund. This
is how they made lapped siding for the cottages and buildings in miniland. The
doors don't actually function, so instead I experimented with permanently
leaving one side open (50%-100%) and the other side closed. I think the opened
doors adds a nice "static action"  to it.

What distinguishes this MOC as a refrigerated box car is the ice hatch on the
roof, well actually it was the decals first. A good way to get train decals is
to browse through the "cheep" decal box at your local train hobby
shop. I found these URT (Union Refrigerated Transit) decals in  there for
~$1 per set. When I first showed this MOC with the decals LarryP mentioned that
a "refer" either needs a refrigerator unit hanging off one end or an
ice hatch in the roof. So, I added the ice hatch! Thanks Lar.

You may also notice that in the photos below there are different door designs
and ladder designs, just some more experimenting. It's also worth noting that
I'm moving toward the 6 stud long trucks (not shown here), I like the way
that the shorter trucks make the freight car appear longer and as a bonus keeps
the rolling resistance down.
