They Will Break upon this fortress like water on rock. Saramans Hord's will pillage and burn, We've seen it before. Crops can be resown, homes rebuilt. Within these walls we will out last them - Theodin King
They do not come to destroy Rohan's crops or villages.. They come to destroy its people, down to the last child - Aragorn.
The Dual Flags
Wait a minute... is that Trap Jaw hanging out with Frankenstein at the pub??? How did you get out of Eternia?
The "floating" stairs.
Aragorn and Gimli
The Random Axeman
I used to think the King's mountain fortress at a whopping 500 pieces was ginormous. Looks pretty small now doesnt it?
There's a rare sighting indeed, a female dwarf (faints) they do exist!!
The inner Keep
Well, Thats all folks. The model took about two weekends to build.

So I've decide to make a "room for improvement" list of the Critiques that I've heard here and elsewhere in Legoland:
01- Make the stairs into a ramp. - I like them how they are 02- The cross arrow slits change to straight arrow slits - I like them how they are 03- You have too many legos. - I Agree 04- Try breaking up the waterfall at the base - Not worth the time because its basically invisible 05- That’s no Orc horn - No, its Lego 06- The landscaping is a bit bland - There are 150 tree leaves, a Farm, 200+ Flowers, 2,000 green pieces to make the gentle slope, and a waterway. 07- It seems a bit lacking in numbers and accuracy - I'm not buying 30,000 Orcs at $2-3/each. This set is 15,000 pieces on a base of 160x100 studs. 08- Put some bars under the wall in the waterway - Thought about it, didn't bother. 09- More minifigs - 115 isn't enough? 10- Miss a piece: the entrance to the cave - Had this and tore it town. Would require twice as much rocks to look like it fits. Don't want to do that b/c of space and cost. 11- Crownies again instead of armed farmers - These are farmers armed in crownie uniforms. 12- Adding some details would be a bonus - Example please. Do I need a ferris wheel? 13- Where are all the elves - There are 8 only. Brickforge isn't cheap. They fill the wall ok though. 14- Where's the huge gory chaotic battle scene - If I move the Orcs forward then the back is empty. Would require about another 100-200 people and ladders etc. 15- Could've done the far east part a bit better - I bought all of these flowers and wanted to use them. 16- There is no waterfall in the movie - I swear there was one. Are you calling me a liar? 17- There needs to be that little door next to the gate - Check out Muskovich's Helm's Deep . His has a door, so we're covered. 18- Make the hornburg taller - How would it fit in the picture then? 19- You probably need to watch the movie again and figure out some details - I called it "Eggplant's Deep" not "Helm's Deep". When you make one, you can call it Helm's Deep. Or Eggplant's Deep if you want. You might even be tempted to put in an oxygen bar, monorail, or holo-deck. That said, I think I remember the movie having a pub imbedded in the mountain. Why else would the Uruk be trying to get in?
Ok, I've been trying to figure this out for several days. This build looks sooo much like something I've seen before. And for those of you from California may know what I'm talking about. The casino on Catalina Island? Link It is crazy
Awesome build. lots of detail on the wall, gate, stairs, and keep, essentially the important parts. who really watches the movie and says,"oh, what nice flowers they have there on the ground behind that battle there at helms deep" it would be nice to see some more intense battling, but overall, an awesome build.
on the whole, your build is good, and I praise you for your amazing rock formations. However, the proportions are quite off and your keep lacks the stunning detail of the rest of the model. However, I do like all your little modifications. 4/5
Seriously guys, you over criticized, and I'm pretty sure that there is a waterfall in the movie. Even if there isn't, there is one in the book. Anyways, I think that it is a magnificent build, so great job, Eggy!
Please folks, don't over criticize. Seriously, if you want to buy about a thousand orcs, awesome! Go for it. As to Eggy, I like this build a lot. Not everything is perfect, but it's well done, and of a tremendous size. Nice job!

K'mon man. You definitely need to smash a hole in the wall like in the movie. That would be beyond insane. (You'd need to have huge chunks of the wall lying on top of a zillion Uru-khi though).
hey this is really cool and really really big =), I read complains of other people who commented on this, and they are really stupid... I mean when anyone of you lunatics build anything like this tell me, but if you are notcapable of doing that I would all please you to shut your mouth, and as Eggplant mentioned allready it is EGGPLANT'S DEEP !!! oh and I saw that somebody mentioned that it doesn't have enough minifigs... I mean the guy used about 100 minifigs... I personaly don't like crosses right and left to the main gate, but it is EGGPLANT'S DEEP !!!
All I need to say is that my wife, who barely tolerates the existence of my bricks but is a HUGE LOTR fan, was wowed by the shear awesomeness of this creation. This is the very reason you will be so missed during your Dark Ages. I'm not sure about all of the other suggestions offered up, I'm just wondering if that pub has a massage parlor for those post-battle aching muscles...Happy endings for all my men!~H
WOW this is just amazing, I mean I read those complains what some people wrote and I found them really *tupid... 1. when some of you build something fantastic as Eggplant did you tipe me a message but in the meantime *hut your mouth, 2. somebody mentioned that there aren't enough minifigs, in this MOC is about 100 minifigs !!! 3. I personaly don't like crosses left and right to the main gate, but hey it is EGGPLANT'S DEEP !!!
congrats on motd and all that...
personally i prefer the third film though but altogether a good moc.
though that pic with aragorn and gimli makes no sense, in the film theyre fighting away the horde of orcs from the gates not waiting for them and i would've loved it if you added the "toss me" seen
THIS IS THE MOST WICKEDLY, INSANELY, AWESOMELY, FANTASTICALLY, TERRIFICALLY COOL LORD OF THE RINGS MODEL I'VE EVER SEEN! YOU ROCK! Also obviously you other guys commenting like lord of the rings, would you like to join my group? Lord of the Brick? check it out! :)
Awsome!!! I LOOOOOVE Lord of the Rings! Good job!!!!!

All of your creations are quite beautiful. I have plenty of grey now, but I am working on buying rock and more detail bricks. My next castle should be done soon and I used the rounded towers/walls like you with 1x1 barrels and 1x2 bricks.
Great Job!Not only was this build amazing, but the comment at the the end were funny. Thanks for the laugh! Nice work, great detail. The best Helms Deep ever. Oh sorry(Eggplant's Deep). lol.
It's one of the better castles inspired by Helms Deep (better than mine for sure), although some details are missing and behind the big Gate...is nothing than a grew block. For my eye, it's a bit too static as if something would missing but you did a great job by construct this giant thing.
People seem to be picking at little details here for criticism but I really can't bring myself to do so.
The sheer scale and beauty of this MOC renders it 5/5 for me straight out, I love the tower, so dominant and viewable as a beacon of power and intimidation to the opposing army, I wish I had the amount of LEGO®'s and skill to make such a MOC! Bravo! H§
PS. How does the curved wall method stick to the base?
Okay, first, WOW, HUGE!!! Now that is out of my system, time to critique. It is not my favorite Helm's Deep on MOCpages, but it is one of the cleanest. Then again, this is Eggplant's deep, so... I do wish there was a battle, there is no waterfall in the movie, and there needs to be that little door next to the gate, but, again, it is loosely based on the movie, not exactly. So, a 5/5 for you, Mr. Eggplant. Great job!
I go on vacation for 4 days and look what I missed! 4,384 hits in a few days... I think that may be a mocpages record! Now then... umm, how did you... how is that... that's not poss... you know what, words fail. The only thing I can say is that it's missing a ferris wheel. Oh wait, you mentioned that already. That's it, I got nothin'. You have just created a work of art, now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go sit in the corner and shake for an hour or two trying to comprehend the sheer awesomeness of this creation. ~ Chris.
Wow, that list of improvements is funny. Some of the comments on my stuff make me shake my head. What are they thinking? Beyond me and I've been around the block a few times. Maybe it's an age thing. Anyway, I was thinkin' all those people who think it's so under populated could send you a few thousand soldiers and farmers to make something really epic. Come on people, let's step up to the plate. Put your pocket book where your mouth is. Thanks for the laugh. garth
My girlfriend would love, she's a huge fan of Lord Of the Ring :)
Obviously it's an awesome MOC ! Nothing to change, but maybe I'd love to see a pic with a "dark sky" background.
Thanks for the comment and keep on the great work !!!
Amazing work! Lotta nice building here, and some great details.
I love the fact that you made even the straight wall with 1x1 round bricks, makes it merge far better with the round part. That's a great idea.
Awesome...just plain awesome. I love the two small towers by the door, the inside is nice, the rocks are insane, the round parts are perfect, the wall is sweet, and the army is massive. There's my "longer review". =) Cool!!!!!!
That is a very accurate Helms Deep creation! Although the pub is not in the movie/book, I think it looks great(and funny) there! I wonder if Gimli can see over that wall. Hmmmm...Perhaps Legolas should fetch him a horse to give him a boost! Amazing job Eggplant! I love seeing the castles that you crank out! C ya~ElNickre
WOW, This is awesome! I think you should have put some battling into this, and maybe more minifigs, but that is all. VERY WELL DONE MATE! Ha Ha about the Frankenstein and the Female Dwarf, GET THAT BEARDED WOMEN INSIDE!
Now this is the best Helms Deep I have seen so far. (reccomendations annyone?) I only miss a piece: the entrance to the cave! (A V.I.Part)
also, there's the crownies again instead of armed farmers. WHY AM I COMPLAINING!
Your MOC's just keep getting better (if not larger!). I've been looking forward to this one, and it doesn't disappoint!! The textural details in the walls are terrific, and the scale works beautifully with lots of room for some great play. Speaking of which...as Mr. Young recommended...Let's see some Orc heads a rolling!!!
While I very much appreciate the bare shots that allow us to see the fantastic construction in all its detail, I can't help but feel that we're being shortchanged somehow. Where's the huge gory chaotic battle scene? Legolas and Gimli can't start tallying kills if all the armies do is just stand there glaring at each other, you know! This instant gratification society of ours doesn't want any "calm before the storm" stuff -- we want blood! We want it now!
I think this is the best Helm's Deep here, but I think you could've done the far east part a bit better. Still, who am I to say anything? Have you ever read Terry Pratchett's Discworld series? In there, the only difference between a female dwarf and a male one is that they are of the opposite sex.
cool as far as i know it this is the first comment here. This, I think is one of the best renditions of helms deep. complete with orcs and a female dwarf. but the thing that capped this moc of is the curved wall with battlements. Nice job.
