LIU Ludgonia - Cyborg Raceway
Come watch the universe's newest craze...
About this creation
LIU Ludgonia - Cyborg Raceway

The Ludgonian Industrial Union has a keen interest in the new sport of Cyborg Racing. Its popularity has exploded and there are literally billions of dollars to be made. After seeing its endless potential, the LIU Governors decided to build their own raceway so they could host the popular sport.

The LIU Cyborg Raceway hosts the Ludgonian Million, a five lap, one million mile race that starts and ends here at the LIU Cyborg Raceway.

The majority of the race takes place in space, but the LIU wanted a way to increase spectators, so they moved the start and finish to Ludgonia's surface.

The purse for winning the Ludgonian Million is one of the largest in the world of cyborg racing, and the raceway never fails to find racers to compete. Once a month, racers from across the universe descend upon the Cyborg Raceway attracting thousands of fans and thousands of big wallets.

The track narrows at the start/finish line, giving the spectators the closest view possible. It also increases the chances of a catastrophic wreck, which all the fans came to see anyway. The trans red lines mark various distances on the track.

The finish line...

This side of the track holds the premier seating. This section is more spread out, and it contains box seats and high roller suites.

The sides are loaded with advertisements from the race's sponsors. This is where the real money is...

A race official waves the pretty flag at the end of the race, but he's mostly just for show. The actual winner is decided by high speed cameras and high-tech computers. The purse is just to high to allow a human determine the winner. Besides, it's much easier to fix a race this way..uh, we mean, fix the race to be fair...

A vendor hauls his heavy tray of oversized (and way over priced) beers. The long laps mean the racers are only seen for a few minutes every hour. The rest of the time is devoted to heavy drinking.

Elite customers, including the LIU Governors, sit in the climate controlled High Roller Suites.

The top suite was given to the LIU TV2 commentators. These two guys spout useless facts about race just to fill the time between commercials.

One of the commentators is former Cyborg Racer Kevin Wonky. Wonky ended his career with zero wins, eighteen hundred wrecks, and thirty-three illegitimate children. However, his colorful character always made him a fan favorite.

Two clocks keep track of the race while it is away from the Raceway. A small bell sounds five minutes before the racers return. Blink, and you could miss it again...

The other side of the track is general seating. This section is much larger and holds many tightly packed fans.

This side's advertisements. Cha-Ching!

Some of the devoted fans. This section holds about 134 fans.

Here, a vendor sells shark tacos out his handy refrigerated bag. At forty two credits, the tacos cost ten times more than a taco would at the store down the street. However, the raceway has a strict policy about bringing in outside food. Besides, a few twenty credit beers later, you'll gladly splurge for some tacos.

The tunnel behind the vendor leads to the raceway's food court. The top of the tunnel is reserved for the raceway's police officers. Race fans get rowdy and the police keep a watchful eye.

Here's the food court on the other side of the tunnel.

Soft drinks and the most expensive ice cream in the universe is sold on the left side.

A bathroom (the one and only...expect long, long lines), the tunnel back, and a trash can.

The right side has a beer and Kaadu burger stand and a ticket window (place illegal bets here... we won't tell).

What are you waiting for? Get back to the race, the bell is sounding.

Note: Visitors assume all risks and dangers incidental to the sport of Cyborg Racing, whether occurring prior to, during, or after a race. Such risks include death, decapitation, and seat rashes.

Cyborg racing was created by Shannon Ocean. Shannon approved this idea before it was posted.

LOVE IT! I'm not gonna go into the details but this is just cool! I go away on vacation for a few days and look what I miss! One question though... How did the retired racer sire so many offspring without a body? You know what, maybe I don't want to know. ~ Chris.

The whole thing is pretty cool, that's exactly what the Cyborg racers needed !!! Great work on the crowd, there's a lot of hilarious minifigs. Is it a minifig version of the famous Leonard De Vinci drawing that I've seen on one of the last pics ? If it's really that, it's a very cool idea ! PS Thanks for your comment, I'll keep some "acid" for you, if we meet on a LIU planet ;)

Brilliant idea! Now all you need is the Cyborg Racers (if Shannon Ocean would loan them to you$$$!). Those tacos are almost as expensive as Disneyland food! I actually don't see myself in that crowd...that squirrel in there could be...um, never mind. C ya~ElNickre

"Lots of accidents in cyborg racing means the continual need for the restocking of heads. Fortunately with the LIU putting so many spectators in harms way, they're guarunteed a inexpensive supply of fresh victims...um, I mean volunteers...for the re-supplying of racers." Great MOC, Ludgy!!! The endless barrage of LIU MOC's is entertaining beyond words, and this one's another terrific addition to the world of the LIU!
