Well, work's kept me pretty busy as of late, but with the help of our good friend Sig Ocean Figgy, I managed to piece together a little somethin' last weekend.
Now I plan to give everyone the full lowdown on all our shenanigans, Figgy and I, but in the mean time he was complaining about his small size (yeah, potential joke...but I ain't going there!) causing some problems for him negotiating the rooms of my house and it's multiple levels (not to mention the intimidating looks he's been getting from my Collie and Alaskan Malamute). So in an effort to make things a little easier for our Australian brethren of brick, I came up with this little number...
Introducing the AO101 Aussie-Saucer! With Electroencephaloneuromentimpographic Bilateralantidistabilizational Photoradioquantumnal cells, or as we like to call 'em...little hover-thingy's. Great for toolin' around the house or yard, or for those quick get aways from plastic-munchin Malamutes!
As you may have noticed from my Assault Walker Texas Ranger MOC, I'm a fan of bumper stickers. And I couldn't pass up the opportunity to hook up Figgy with a little souvenir from his trip to Brickworld '08. As for the other sticker (which reads: "Min Min Lights")...anyone from here in the states who gets that little joke without looking it up on line wins a baloney sandwich!
And what would a sweet little ride like this be without some interior luxuries. Cockpit includes reclining seat, ergonomic control stick, dashboard outlet (what we once called cigarette lighters), Ipod, and the ever-essential temperature controled cup holder for that cool, refreshing bottle of Figgy's favorite amber fluid...oops...I mean...sparkling water. (don't drink and drive, kids!)
Well there ya have it, Kangaroo fans...Figgy's personal mode of transportation while visiting here in Indy. We'll be sure to post some shots of the fun in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, hope ya enjoyed seeing his ride, and as they say in Australia: "May your chooks turn into Emu's and kick your s#*!house door down!" (no idea what that means, but it sounds cool!)
CRIKEY! Awesome MOC, mate! Sorry... I can't help it. No offen.se to any Australians! Great job, but the only little part I think isn't amazing is the fact I think there's a bit too much yellow near the cockpit... That was a long and proabably incomprehensible sentence. Point is, it's awesome, but not perfection, I'm dissapointed in you, Mr. Kelso! Haha. Great job. 5 stars anyway.
really i hope that u never build a lego car!! coz when u do i'll leave moc p. ;)!!! really u r a pro. man, all ur creations ROCKS!! keep it up ... and man thanks 4 ur nice comments on my mocs, really i consider ur opinions, so hope u'll always do, c ya soon.. peace.. fofo
Dang, I turn my back from my computer and look what gets past me! WEll, this is an awesome piece of art! I love the Ipod(Though I prefer Microsoft Zunes!) and I think you did an overall grand job! Now I am off to find out about Min Min Lights...I thought I heard music, but I dismissed it as my dishwasher, untill I turned up my computer's speakers...WELL DONE, MATE! One last note, I totally dig that Ausie flag!
When are you gonna post any new mocs? the suspense is killing phong chang! did i just refer to myself in 3rd person? anyway, just taking another look...or listen. again nice work. check out my saviour gundam and gundam astray gold frame amatsu.(what a mouthful!...thats what she said!) both mocs, as well as any other moc i post keep getting spammed by random low rates. i have no idea who the guy is but he or she...im not kidding anyone, he is a pain in the...well you know. (they're slowly recovering but the can't get back to 5.) catch ya later! ~sho
i have a question and please to to respond as fast as possible. okay, I know about Project Playlist and the songs and stuff, But where do you get the embedding code for a song? I need to know for my next MOC. Thanks! 5/5
Well, no baloney for me, I had to look it up. But, with my new knowledge of min min lights and Men at Work playing in the background, I'm confident I could pass for a Aussie. Now, I only have to lose 200 lbs and shrink 6 feet and my transformation to Sig Ocean would be complete. Then I would get to drive in this amazing little ship. Good form mate!
I can't believe I just wanted to listen to the whole song:D A very nice hovercraft. I love the way you showed the middle of the craft. it seems very detailed with all the metal stuff and that kind of things. The yellow stipes on it are clever too. Congrats Kelso! You've made a very original design for a hovercraft! I hope this thing has seatbelts Ocean!,because this thing really looks fast:)!(I don't understand why there does only show a link up on my pages in stead of a real playlist;(..) Keep 'm coming!~Joris
Always an innovator! First MOC on the 'pages with a soundtrack! Totally unexpected -- I looked around like a fool wondering where the music was coming from at first. One of my favorite songs when I was a kid, and I still sing along when I hear it today. Whatever happened to Men At Work, anyway? Mostly I think music died when MTV was born, but the 80's did produce a few gems. What, there's a Lego creation to look at here? I'll look at the pics after I've sung through the final fade. "You better run, you better take cover..."
Oh and yes, I guess I'm quite the GOD now here on MOCpages (which is funny cuz I'm a nobody on Flickr ;) You know, having people build my sigfig flying sucers and what not. Does Goldman get a saucer? Does Youngy? Hellz no! But I won't let fame go to my head-I'm all about keeping it real man. Now if you'll excuse me, peasant, my lobster and caviar roast is waiting for me...
Mind you, don't think this trans-pacific 'shan'-anigans will go unpunished! Oh no sir; when I come up with a good comeback in a few months, you'll know about it. Oh yes. Dissing Australia huh? That makes me feel...um...what's that feeling I never feel?...Patriotic! That's it!
*composes self* Wow. Ok. Didn't see that one coming. Dude, nice work! Men at work ROCK! Although that seems to be the only Aussie song you yanks are familiar with...nonetheless, I'd kill to find out how to add music like that to a page. Anyway, thanks mate! Crikey! etc etc.
5/5 for the magnificent build, great job as always. Please be sure little Sig Ocean Figgy only drinks his sparkling water, it would be tragic for the little guy to get an HUI. I'd like to give you another 5/5 for messing with one of the Shannons (I mean it, any Shannon will do). And yes, I would even like to issue a few bonus points for throwing Men at Work in there too. Truly "Kelsoriffic"!
Ther's music too?! I didn't notice that until after I posted my first comment! Figgy has an interesting music taste. I am still laughing! Great touch! *(singing) I come from a land down under* Whoops I didn't mean to write that! C ya~ElNickre
I could talk about how cool this MOC is, or how funny and clever the music piece is. But really, you photography is simply outstanding. I wish I could take photos like that. Unbelievable. The photo quality makes the creation look so much fun, like I'm really there.
NICE! A cool little ship, a gag or two, and a bit of information about something I had not known about. What could be better than that? Knowledge is power. I found a page on the internet about an Aussie science guy who figured out what min min lights were and how they are created. I had heard of the Fata Morgana effect before and seen it as kid while travelling on the Canadian prairie. Very flat there. garth
Love the Electro... Electric... ele... Hover Thingy's. So, What kind of MPG does that thing get? I'll let the other guys take care of the "little" jokes but I can't wait to see what comes next for Figgy... "snif" I miss him already. I hope for your sake he's not just sitting on your couch eating Jalapeno poppers and watching Battlestar. Put that boy to work while he's there! ~ Chris.
