Puhacki orkestar grada Pule
About this creation
The orchestra (original name "Puhacki orkestar grada Pule") was founded in 1993 and has now approximately 130 members, divided in 8 groups. The orchestra is supported by the city council and performs on many different occasions, including weekly concerts in the open during the Summer. The main symphonic-type group consists of about 65 musicians, and has already received a few awards (in 1998, in a nation-wide contest, it was chosen as the best orchestra in the A-category).
Formally I am still a member, although it has been hard to participate during the last few years since I moved to another country. So, in order not to forget them, I decided to make a model as a tribute to the orchestra's 15th birthday. Each figure represents a real person (including me, of course, on the triangle).
The chorus is there to help with their charming voices. It consists of 29 princesses (only one of which is actually real). The inspiration for it was the chorus Rondo Histriae (although there are male singers in the real one), who at some occasions indeed performs with the orchestra.
To those who wonder whether I will build them a concert hall - well, I kind of already already have. Still, in order for everyone to see and hear them, they will mostly perform outside.

This is insane! I play the trumpet and I'm a band geek. :P Could you please post instructions for the tuba?
There are a few closeup pictures that show you pretty much exactly how it is made. It is only 5 pieces after all, and I feel that making instructions would ruin the fun :) |

Hello Matija, Incredible your Pula Wind Orchestra! Especially when ones realise that you actually made a minifig of each orchestra collegue! How did you create the uniforms? I used transparent printable stickers myself e.g. for the flags of windmill 't Nupke, but that solution is not optimal. |

I was going to make a request, but you don't have enough strings there to play what I wanted to hear. Great job on all the instruments you do have, though. Any plans to build these guys a concert hall? |
