Uplink Mk. II

About this creation

I wondered what the 7708: Uplink set would have been like if Lego had used the 2006/07 frame design for the smaller mechs. So a couple of hours later I had finished this.

Roughly the same as the 8106: Aero Booster mech or sets 8111: River Dragon, 8100: Cyclone Defender and 8101: Claw Crusher , but stands a little taller with the shoulder pads.

Like 7708, this has twin laser cannons and not two, but three rockets, tan leather interior and windshield.

I probably should mention, I tried to keep it within the Lego set constraints, so the legs are Lego standard (ie. spindly and could use a whole 'nother point of articulation), and the back is non-existent just as the sets were.

Star Wars LEGO sets available from Amazon - a few hard-to-find sets available too! Death Star II, UCS Star Destroyer, Jabba's Sail Barge plus the Millenium Falcon)

Very cool! I always liked Exo-force. This is very good. If it were a set, I would totally buy it!

The Agency approves. This is a splendid mod showing exactly how Lego could crank some of their sets to 11. Nicely done, and great color palette!

For me the Uplink was one of the most laughable and wimpy looking mechs ever. BUt you have turned it into something to be feared . Great job.

Wow! This is such a cooler Uplink then what Lego put out! I really like the design! and the fact that you decided to give it arms in addition to weapons. Why couldn't Lego do something like this?? They make everything too childish... Great job!!

I have to say that the cockpit's design it's very cool. As in matter of fact, this is one of the greatest MOCs I've ever saw im my life. By the way, excellent idea of the missile launcher.

The body is much better than the original set's, the canopy was a great addition and it fits well. The legs could still use some more work, though. Try putting curved wedges on the sides with SNOT pieces to make them look less spindly. This is probably one of the best set-modifications I've ever seen.
