Alright stop, collaborate and listen. Ice is back with a brand new invention. something, grabs... just stop before you embarrass yourself further, Chris.
About this creation

The Story:
During the early part of the 21st century, Robert Van Winkle was a Zamboni driver for the Anaheim “Mighty Ducks”. He was driving the “zam” one day when some idiot in a Snoopy costume wouldn’t get out of the way. Snoopy fell and twisted an ankle directly in the path of the ice machine. Robert jumped down from the zam and pushed the injured skater out of the way just in time. Unfortunately, he was unable to get out of the way and was run over by the “out of control” resurfacer (Those things can get upwards of 15 miles an hour given an open stretch of ice). Van Winkle was trapped under ice (Sing along to Metallica if you wish). As no one ever actually went to see the Mighty Ducks play, Van Winkle remained in his frozen tomb for nearly two centuries.

When the rink was finally scheduled to be torn down for the “Keith Goldman Memorial Gardens”, demolition crews found the cryo-corpse under 12 feet of ice. Robert was thawed and revived. His body was mostly useless after his centuries long sleep. After having his brain transplanted, he joined the ranks of the cyborg racers.

Rollin in his “5.0 Ice Racer” he now waxes chumps like candles (and when he wins, he rocks the mic like a vandal too)... (How much of a dork am I that I actually remember the lyrics?) His racer was designed in homage to the element that led to his “new career”. Now check out his hook while the D.J. revolves it…
Fourth Wall Commentary – I was taking apart the “Ocean” racer and started thinking about how I could use these pretty little trans-blue pieces and actually make something that wasn’t complete c**p. Hey, ice would work! Make some of it clear and top it all off with some white snot plates to give it that frosted over look and “WHAMO!” Now all I needed was a song… Duh, I’m a child of the 80’s and a 90’s teen. Who better from the “one hit wonders” than Vanilla Ice?!? Alright, throw it all together, come up with an “almost” readable back story and “Ice Ice Baby” was born, Thawed, whatever. I did actually build him with landing gear although you can’t see it in the pics. They’re just the same blue with a white plate covering the studs. Anyway, till next time race fans… ~ Chris.
Addition: In reference to the Emperor's review, some of you are probably too young to get it. When the song "Ice Ice Baby" came out, there were legal issues with the bass line sounding VERY similar to a Queen/Bowie song. Now that you're in on the joke... let's move on.

OK, i changed my name, but before i saw your comment, i commented on something when i had my old name, so please dont go into a fiery explosion of rage thinking i ignored you. By the way i love that song and the wierd thing is Im 14 and listen to mostly the Beatles. :) |

Well, I must say that I'm not that keen on this one, it seems a bit... a bit underdone in my opinion. However, it is still alright I guess. 3/5 is the score. |

Now that's a backstory haha! Great song choice, cool ship; what more can one ask for? Oh yeah, a Metallica reference! "I am dying to live, cry out! I'm trapped under ice!" (air guitar solo...)

I can't keep from wondering if your Zamboni backstory is drawn from a horrifying real-life experience, and this MOC is a cathartic and desperate cry for help. It's okay, Chris...we're here for ya, buddy. |

Although some other people have done the racer-made-out-of-ice idea, yours is by far the most creative interpretation of the concept. Encasing the pilot's head in that "block of ice" made out of windscreens was a brilliant idea. Great job! |

I don't know man, that looks eerily similar to Queen and Bowie's racer called Under Pressure. Oh wait, you added an extra "da" in there. Oh OK. I get ya. Nice Job. |

I find this one better than the "Ocean". Very nice use of the trans-blue parts, uncommon and funny design. Great !

Your cyborg race-ships always have really entertaining backstories. The build is nice, too, but I think you could have made the engines better. It would be cool (get it?) if you made them big and gray or something to make it look like they were just stuck into the ice block. |
