Power Armor Motorcycle
Motorcycle for Power Armor riders.
About this creation
This is my entry in the 2004 Space Wheels contest on Lugnet. It's a motorcycle sized to be ridden while you're wearing a suit of power armor.

What could be more unlikely than a 16-foot tall suit of power armor? How about a motorcycle that you could ride while wearing a 16-foot tall suit of power armor?

This motorcycle was developed by mercenaries who got sick of missing big contracts because they got stuck in traffic on the way to the spaceport. With the cycle, they can use the carpool lane and get there in no time.

I've always loved the bikes that have the rear wheel mounted on a single swing-arm.

The rear suspension does flex over a short range of motion, and the fork is steerable. It doesn't do any other tricks beyond that.

The bike in Akira, and Priss' moto-slave from Bubblegum Crisis were both red, so red seemed like the right color for this bike.

Finally, power armor pilots have an excuse to go to the Sturgis bike rally!

You're gonna want to bring a baseball cap, because the helmet is gonna mess up your hair somethin' awful.

This is the first time I've built anything I liked that uses the canopy from the Life on Mars sets.

Try doing this without power armor, tough guy. Don't forget your helmet.

Um, this is what it looks like without a rider.

The wheels are from one of the original Space Police vehicles.

I got the idea from one of the Appleseed volumes, where Bri (a big cyborg) rides up on a big motorcycle, and Yoshi (just a regular non-cyborg) wants to ride it. Bri tells him to wear his Landmate (like a power armor suit), and he'd be a good fit.

I'm running out of witty repartee.

If you've ever seen "American Chopper" on the Discovery Channel, you might get a kick out of imagining Paul Sr. walking into the Orange County Chopper shop and seeing Pauly, Vin and Mikey working on this bike.

Very impressive scale model. Just awesome. Congrats on MOC of the day (17-8-2011). Right now, I'm also building an Aprilia RSV4 motorbike (white). I've built a huge pickup truck before, and even an RC Ferrari, but I must tell u that a motorbike is very difficult to build, so repesct for that buddy. Also did I build half the bike for 22 times and still lots of parts don't fit, so I'll try to build it for the 23rd time from the beginning again, hoping that it will work out righteous this time.

This amuses me greatly. The only improvement I can think of is giving him proper exo-force style mech hands, instead of minifig legs.

It reminds me of Clay Atchley's Stinger (I think it was called that). I love all of the suits. The green and dark red ones are my favorites. I will make one of them, eventually. Good Job. Where do you get the helmets.

Unbelievably awesome. I do like the idea. At first I thought "How pointless is that?" but then I realized that not all power armor has jump jets. Anyways, I enjoy this a lot.

This is just awesome. This reminds me of the type of cool idea that I might have, try, fail at, then give up on-- except you succeeded. Most importantly, it looks like it would be really fun to play with!

I think this is great, it's a perfect fit with your power suit. I like the backend the most. Maybe next you should make a big jeep for the power suits to ride on :)

I like it, is it posible to make it in green? the life on mars windshield, looks cool on the bike, and small wheels.oh I also like the way the back tire is only being held by one arm.
