And the great wave erupted, nothing withstanding its power, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake...
I ordered some of the rarer blue pieces from bricklink, without a specific purpose, knowing only that I would use them eventually. While I was building, a sudden idea of a vignette with a scandinavian longship popped into my head. It was as though the bricks built themselves. Then came the time to build the base, and I knew this was the job for the blues. Five minutes of bricks and a lot of careful balancing amounts to this.
About this creation
OAHAHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAH!
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
OAHAHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAH!
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green,
Can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war.
We are your overlords.
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
So now youd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day

Reminds me of that picture of the Mongol fleet being destroyed off of Japan back in the day. The divine wind smashed those ships to twigs. |

Excellent Mini-Boat. Lots of great details like the circle shields, Snot sail and interesting blue waves. At first I thought you were going into some sort of random prose, but then was like wait a minute... This is too good for this webpage, and of course it is led zepplin. Next up... Stairway to Heaven? |

Joe, I'm sorry that I haven't been "here" before. Your stuff is really nice and I need to talk to the girl at the front counter to get a season pass! See you in "the game". Later ~ Chris. |

The ship does look as though it's floating, and the wave isn't really big enough to have tossed it in the air. However, quoting Immigrant Song more than makes up for this. You give me hope for the future of the human race. I do believe though, that Robert Plant's screams would be more accurately spelled O-aah-aaaaaaaaaa-AAH!! O-aah-aaaaaaaaaa-AAH!! Man, Zeppelin rules. |

You've done a great job with the design of the longboat! My one preference is that the boat would be attached somehow to the wave, or even partly submerged (please don't feel like you have to change it now though). I also like how you put a wave in the scene, instead of just a flat water surface. |
