this is a work in progress as every time we think it's finished we start somthing new to add, the gas works is the latest addition. The full layout is not featured here as it's too big for our room so I'll put the industrial area together at a later date, we are working on the fine detail at the moment and will add more photo's as we finish them, Many thanks for looking Alex & Allan.

This is insane in all the right ways. But good lord, where will the whole be assembled? I agree that you have achieved authenticity. And this kind of simplicity needs no apology. My only quip is that it looks a bit clean for a coal town. ;^} (don't let those pesky daleks do more than add a few touches for variety).

Quoting Robert Peszel
Being a Bolton lad from the early 1960's I was taken back there when I saw your layout. I left England in 1976, I was searching for a pub for my own layout and have moreorless copied your Queen Vic and named it the Red Lion which looked quite similar in real life but I cant get the hang of how you built the inset above the windows for the sign. Any help greatly appreciated and keep up the good work.
Robert the sign is a homemade sticker on a card, cut to fit at an angle, the lower edge fitted in a 8x1 plate with door rail, and the upper edge fitted to a 8x2 plate with door rail. this means the sign's have to be 8, 16, 24, long hope this was some help. many thanks for the comment Allan. |

I like the fact that the town is very uniform and all buildings match with a very old city I went long ago. Your creation is very detailed and the bridge picture is superb!. |

I stumble over some of your creations over and over again and again. They make me dream about what would be possible if one had endless amounts of pieces... In my language, I´d say that your town is "ripe for Legoland" ("reif für Legoland":):):))... Purely awesome. Steffen |

Nice layout. Lots of detail. It looks like a scene from some movie set in a coal mining town. I like the little gardens and the down spouts on the houses. Great use of red and gray for a building. All put together it really works well. garth |

This is an amazing town layout. I love the many details, such as the mine itself with those little coal cars, the cute gardens at the back of the miners´ houses, the graveyard, ... Great work and effort! do we get to see the other part of town as well? I´m jealous of all the bricks BTW:) Steffen |

Wow. Impressive -- you say you'll add more pics later so I guess I'll keep checking back on this one... I'm intrigued by the snippet of graveyard I see in the lower right of the main pic. |
