Does every day have to be a battle?
About this creation
Why is every day a battle? As people watch us, we fight on without looking to the humans in need...right beside us.
I know that there is no rhyming, but that is not the point of the poem. Please read it.
Every day we leave our home,
Fists clenched, ready to fight,
Only our own hopes matter,
Ignoring the cries of our neighbor,
Driving down the road,
We all carry a load saying,
“We must get it done”
“We must hurry on”
All our faces are filled with anger,
We go on in life unaware of danger,
What does it take for us to stop?
What will finally bring us to a halt?
People are right beside us, watching,
They wonder at our ability,
Our ability to ignore the ones who need our help,
They cry out to us, but we do not hear,
We must stop our battle,
For it is a battle for self,
We must humble ourselves,
And help someone along the way,
We are the very fortunate,
So we must be the ones,
To reach out to this world in kindness,
We must stop our self love,
You do not need to look far,
There are people all around you,
Now, we must listen to their cries!
Drop that battle!
And reach out in selfless kindness.

This MOC transmits a sadly real message. You are completely right. But as we gain consciousniss of it, we change. Good work.
Happy moccing. |

A good message. From what I deduce of your poem, is that you are fed up with Humanity's pitiful infighting. Welcome to the club. |

Our society emphasizes (through the media, especially) a mentality of "ME! ME! ME!...MINE! MINE! MINE!" Many mythologies of the world tell us to see the God in others and ourselves, then the ego falls away and we're more inclined to empathize with those around us. But, tough to do in a world that stresses competition for wealth, a work oriented life style, individuality, and the quest for material goods over spiritual and mental well-being. Great topic ya got here! Who says Lego's ONLY a toy! |

Great work, but I think the poem is a little too straightforward. More metaphoric-ness would be awesome. |
