i saw this first on google, then i joined mocpages lol. but i built a kind of spin off from your steering/suspension set up, and it worked great. thanks for the idea! |

just use the new 3L u joints |
|
|
Its okay, but way too big and weak for a trial truck. remember, trial trucks have max width of 25 studs. And your second universal joint doesnt steer in center. |

Nice job!
@ Simon Chaddock: I built this myself, and by just removing the brace in the middle, the u-joints are not a problem.
Anyone else who needs instructions for this: you're obviously not a TECHNIC builder. The 4 pics were more than enough for me to build it. |

a genius system, I can't use it tough because I don't possess certain parts but if I had them I would certainly use it (I'm actually not good with lego technic and still... I like it a lot) |

Hi Joel
A neat robust steering suspension layout but how many trucks have double wishbone suspension?
Just one point but from the photos it looks as if the steering pivot axis and the centre of outboard universal joint are not quite in line. If this is so then it will put a bending force on the universal joint when steering under load - and we all know they are not that strong.
All you need to do now is build 3 more units and mount them on a chassis!
Keep up the good work |

Very nice, I'll be sure to steal your idea! Looks really sturdy. I wish a company would build Lego's Universal joints out of metal so they'd be stronger, oh well. |
