A 4-6-2 wheel arrangement using only modern train wheels.
About this creation
A slightly more realistic wheel arrangement for 9V locomotives.
Step 1.
Step 2. Note: the white 1x2 plates should be old and loose, as their studs will act as the pivots for the rear wheel trucks. If necessary, they can be loosened by gently filing the sides of each stud with a nail file. Studs that are too tight may cause derailment on tight corners.
Step 3.
Step 4.
Step 5.
Step 6. The white stud at the rear should rest in the hole nearest the end of the wagon plate (four studs in).
Note: This wheel arrangement relies on gravity to keep the chassis together, which means that if you pick your locomotive up the rear trucks may fall off. Simply line them up on the tracks and lower the locomotive back on top of them.
