About this creation
After Ogel created the Manta Undersea Fighter, Alpha Team had to rush into service a craft that could hold its own tactically against the Manta.
After an accelerated design phase, what emerged became the SeaHunter, or as one of the pilot wags dubbed it, "Ahnuld." Basicially built for power, this craft is capable of carrying a multitude of weaponry on its hardpoints. While it has a countermeasures package, it depends on its manueverability to stay out of trouble.
The unique feature of the SeaHunter is that it's wings can open and close to increase speed or reduce its profile.
Production has begun on the SeaHunter, and deployment will begin in the coming weeks.
Builder's Notes
This little ship was one of the most diffuclt things I've done. Not because of the construction, mind you, but because of the design. I have been wanting build something for Alpha Team that was an attack craft, but it took me three months to come up with a ship that looked right.
That said, I'm pretty happy with the SeaHunter, most notably with the wing design. Originally< I was going to build the wings so the would pivot and the engines could rotate up and down. However, when built the wings and worked with it, it quickly became apparent to me that was the wrong way to go. Basically, I didn't like the engines pointing a different direction from the rest of the craft. So the wings became hinged.
I also like that I can load the craft up with ordnance.
