Missile launchers, Hotweilers, and guns . . . oh my.
About this creation
Enjoy checking out an archive selection of field artillery that has been used in the past by the MFI (Military Forces of Islandasia)
MT20 HMG
The MT20 heavy machine gun (HMG) is a fully automatic mounted firearm It is generally transported on the back of a jeep with the legs retracted. It is typically operated by two minifigs: a gunner and one to feed ammunition.
MT40 LUC
The MT40 Light Utility Cannon (LUC), nicknamed "Lucy," developed a porud legacy during the Glory Days of 2004. It, like the MT20, is generally operated by two minifigs.
MT50 MSAUU
As we continue up the scale, we come across the much-feared MT50 Multi-Systematic Anti-Aircraft Unit, or MSAAU (commonly referred to as "Muhsaw"). The MSAAU features a variety of weapons, big and small. These include a centrallized anti-aircraft canon, atri-barrel rapid-fire machine gun, and a single-barrel laser device on the side. The Muhsaw is generally transported by truck and is, for the most part, only used in defensive operations. The MT50 is operated by two or more minifigs: a "targeter" and one or more gunners.
MT60 HURPC
As we approach the heavier equipment, the MT60 Heavy Utility Rapid-Fire Canon (HURPC) is next in line. The HURPC is regarded as the laughing stock of the MFI: it is incredible heavy and a continual nuisance to transport. However, its double-barrel canon can put to rest any laughs from an enemy. Up to a year ago it was kept in service due to its incredible power. The MT60 has the ability and sturdiness to fire heavy explosives at a very fast rate for a prolonged period of time, and is therefore a key unit on offensive bombardment operations. With a minifig operating as gunner, its ammunition belts are generally fed by droids due to their outrageous weight: each cannon ball weighs about 30 pounds and there may be up to a hundred cannon balls in each belt.
MT90 LML
Last, but not at all least, is the MT90 Light Missile Launcher (LML). Similar to the M750, the MT90 is a miniature field missile launcher. Operated by three minifigs, the LML is capable of shooting small rockets a distance of 2.5 Lego miles with incredible accuracy.
The LML has a light machine gun mounted on the base in the event of a close encounter with the enemy.
Now you see it . . .
. . . now you don’t!
We hope you have enjoyed your tour of these interesting MFI artillery contraptions.
