Rebuilt of the Megabloks Tactical Fighter (bought for 12 bucks on ebay)
or "please John, pimp my plane !", third act.
After the north American P-51D Mustang and the Hawker Sea Harrier, here comes a very improved version of the ugly-blocky Megabloks F-16.
- new wings (with movable control surfaces)
- movable air brakes
- movable horizontal stabilizers
- new apex
- new body
- new rudder
- new nose
- new air intake
- new landing gear (retractable)
The scale is 1/28 (that's why there is no pilot). It's a scale between Technic's and Jack Stone's.
There're roughly 70% Lego parts on this plane.
As you surely have noticed, there are three different types of grey on this MOC:
- old light grey
- Megabloks grey
- light bluish grey
It's not very beautiful but I didn't find all the pieces
that i wanted in light grey so I have chosen light bluish grey which is not too different.
I also made the choice to keep as many Megabloks parts as possible
so that it still remains a Megabloks model improved with Lego parts and not the opposite.
The 3 wheels should be white but the pieces weren't available.
By a fortunate coincidence, dark blue grey and Megabloks khaki color are very similar.
By the way, yes, I know that Megabloks stinks and so on but it can be greatly improved thanks to Lego parts.
Apparently, many of the commenters don't realize that you used LEGO in this beautiful model, or that even though Megablocks are sometimes frowned upon, it still is technically a MOC. Anyways, nice work, and don't let the h aters get to yah :-)
I just skim read the comments and tbh I've no idea why people rage about MB, to be honeest the idea that John seems to be going along with is that MB suck at making good planes, hence the "Mega Blocks pimped". So in a way it's dissing MB, but tbh, they're still bricks so why not use them! :D
This is definitely a great build, but the use of "they who shall not be named"(megabloks-wait! Now I said it!) is not something I would ever approve of. I know LEGO doesn't always provide every single piece you might need, but then that would completely defeat the purpose. LEGO bricks were created for the purpose to inspire people to be creative. So my advice is to think of uses for other LEGO bricks to use in place of..."them". But still, don't get me wrong, you have some real talent for building. This has some amazing detail and is an incredible build.
dude greatest f 16 ever my dad use to fly this thing and goodness gratios great balls of fire (top gun) dude som times i like meg blocks beter than legos because they have got military and now they even have halo o one more thin the persone below me i just wana say that sounds so dirty
mke an f5 or an f18
Hi John, this looks pretty good although its mega blocks so I can't give it a five.....the only other thing I have to say is I think the nose is a little bulky and that the intake is too big other then that it has incredible detail and scale good work----David
I like it

I'm not a fan of the MegaBlocks either, but your model puts all worries aside. Great work here - great building.
It's kind of sickening when noobs on MOC (no offece to anyone that reads this) but, not in this case! That is pwnage! One suggestion is give a little more detail on the horizontal stabilizors, but that is the best F-16 ive seen on MOC!
This is great for cruddy stinkin' lousy MEGABLOKs! Had it been me I probably only would have kept the canopy and afterburner...All such things aside, the architectural aspect is brilliant, my only complaint being the relative blockiness of the radome. I must say the cockpit looks great on there. Ralph still gets some points for his being smaller, but yours is right up there. Great job, MEGABLOK owes you their gratitude in redeeming one of their crummy sets! -- -- Michael
I would have given you a 5 but since you used megablocks I can't. -1 for the cockpit because of the megablocks windshield and another -1 for the missele's, you didn't had to make those out of megablocks as you could have used lego parts for those.
