Lief!! The main character of the popular series Deltora Quest. I added a few juicy tips about the show so be sure to check it out!
About this creation
I found a better pic of Lief. So I used that as the front pic. Anyways, here's my Lief fig and wow, I didn't think he'd do it but wow. He's at the top!! Thank you so much for your patronage. Who knows, maybe in the future Deltora will have it's own category on MOCpages!
Lief is a brave young man of 16 who is the son of "Jarred" and "Anna". He grew up a very cocky boy, always ready to fight and causing mischief with his friends. He lived in a smithy near the town surrounding castle Del. There, he grew up defending the weak from the Shadow Lord's merciless Grey Guards and aiding those who couldn't afford help or food. He was sick of seeing the people in such misery and wanted to help, but there was nothing he could do. That was, until his sixteenth birthday... It was then when he discovered his father had the legendary "Belt of Deltora". Lief knew what he had to do. Together with the supposed beggar, Barda, he left his home in search of the seven gems. Along the way he met Jasmine, the girl of the forest. Thogether with Barda, they went to many dangerous pages and recovered all the gems. Lief has always been the first man in, he can't sit still and will almost always rush into a confrontation. That alone has put him in serious trouble many times.
He even died once (for Deltora fans only)! But he doesn't do it just for the sake of fighting! His selflessness is the first to take over and he ALWAYS puts his friends first.
I haven't actually read the series of books before, my sister does, but recently she introduced me to the anime version on TV. It's great, and as she says, sticks to the storyline perfectly.
Action pose! Kill the Shadow Lord! Hooyah!!!
I think the knight sword works perfectly for him. Lief got his sword from his father when he left his home to go on the quest. His father had forged it himself and though it is small and very simple, it has never broken once. He also wears a hand made cloak his mother gave to him. It has the power to become completely transparent for long periods of time and has come in handy on many occaisions.
Here's a pic of Lief and his buddies, Jasmine and Barda. They haven't made hair that spiky but when they do... So, does it look like him?
Another clear shot of Leif's face. Note, I wasn't able to include the band around his head. He's always ready for a fight!
Thanks for looking! And be sure to watch the awesome series "Deltora Quest"!!
Oops, I forgot, for those who haven't seen the Deltora Quest show, is probably because IT ISN'T IN AMERICA YET! The author went to a company in JAPAN to make the series, it's been out for almost a year there. She hasn't said anything about an American release yet, but it'll come. For those curious to see the Japanese versions, you can try Youtube or Veoh. Note, they only have episodes subbed up to Ep. 15. Just FYI for those hardcore Deltora fans.
For those who are less likely to watch the anime, but still read the books, it's fine if you read this. But for you hardcore readers who would still want to sit through the characters' quick-paced Japanese chatter and episodes that seem to have no plot due to lack of English description, you might want to avert your eyes...
This is in response to Crow's note on the length of the show. There are 52 episodes based on the original "Deltora Qest" series. Then there are about 10-? filler episodes. I read that the author wanted to not only change the storyline a bit, but also add extra material that wasn't included in the book. Some of these changes included (And if you don't understand what I mean, it's okay, this is for the seasoned readers!) an evil Grey Guard that actually escaped the Shadow Lord's evil grip and is now an ally of the group, several other variations of Fili's species that the group comes across including one with no tail and darker fur and that the character Neridah didn't die, but ended up being included in several other episodes, just to name a few.
My sister told me that the addition of the extra content and bonus episodes were a good change. One, because the the overall series has been lengthened by quite a large amount and two, things that seemed unclear, or seemed to make the storyline boring and unnatractive have been ironed out and make the whole thing flow smoothly. For those who DID read this, I hope I didn't spoil too much, there is still much that I HAVEN'T said. I'll make a prediction and say that the English version will debut in America in 2010. I haven't heard of the true plans of the release. All I know is that would more than likely be shown on ABC, but that could change as well.
Oh, and here's a little teaser from the actual anime for anyone who really wants to watch it!
(Note: I may or may not leave this on my page for long!)
(Post Note: Sorry about the subbing. It isn't very good, but this was the only one I could I find..)
Now on to the P.S.'s :P
P.S. I have made the Barda character, I am just having some trouble with the uploading of the pictures, so I'll try to fix that error as soon as possible!
P.P.S There has been a lot of obvious hype about Lief and Jasmine, yet why doesn't anyone review? Feel free to write you're opinion! I want some feedback! (Especially from you Deltora nuts!)
First of all, you should use some of the Exo-Force hair in stead. I did not know it was a TV show. I liked the books when I was younger, and my sister LOVES them (she read them about 5x). I do not think it should be in anime style. It's just not how I pictured it.
oh.DELTORA have made it to MOCPAGES!?well,I have readen all the books and had noooo idea there was a anime. And hadnt seen pics of the characters before but...the model should get spiky hair and it will be perfect!and Carlo, check out my Halo models, and remember, leave a review!
I had no Idea there was a Deltora Quest anime. Considering the length of the books and the series its self, it musn't be very long. There a BIG twist at the end! Watch out, Leif's parent's aren't who he thinks and two blacksmiths aren't what they seem...
