The Ibis 2 is the next-generation Ibis walker after the R86. New features include revamped targeting systems, and two of the six machine guns were replaced with an heat-guided gatling gun suspended from the underbelly. Removing the machine guns also made room for the addition of a "chin" which houses the extra targeting systems and a universal weapon dock for extra add-ons (shown empty here). It makes a great holiday gift for anyone with a big enough yard and enough dispensable neighbors!
About this creation
The graceful heinie shot.
The epic you're-going-to-die shot.
Standing at attention with missile ports open on top.
The beauty of the R88X over the R86 is the pivoting booster, designed by the great military engineer by the name of Miles Pivotingboosterdesigner. This allows for much greater maneuverability in tight situations. The killing continues! Unfortunately, when viewed from the back, this walker is often mistaken for a little pigeon-toed girl. This minor, unforeseen detail caused a sudden halt in production as the military awaits a new less pigeon-toed-girly design.
These next 4 slides are from a short video promo I made to document the R88X just for giggles. The video turned out extra super cool and all, but it took a frick ton of time to make. My original intent was to follow this documentary process for every on of my MOCs. Yeah, right.
Video slide #2, showing the ins and outs of the pivoting booster.
Video slide #3, showing the back pealed away, so the internal gear box that controls leg movement is showing. When one leg is moved, the other leg moves in the opposite direction.
Last but not least, video slide #4, showing the effects of piloting the R88X. It's so exciting even the best pilot will lose control of his bladder.
nice mech. youve considerably improved it from the first.
I like it

I cant beleive there was a period of 7 months and 12 days in between this review and the previous one. Anywho, this thing is awesome. Your documentary was the only one I havent fallen asleep while watching! Im gonna go check out your other mocs now. I just saw your big base thingy that blocks buffalo burgers from entering something, or something like that. For those who dont know, this was MOC of the day today (July 12, 2008).
