Work in progress
About this creation
Date: 12/08/2007
I have 16 Café-Corner modules and it was getting a bit repetitive, so I decided that the next thing I will add to my layout will be a square or park. I have a small church that I think I will be able to add to this new section of my layout, but I need more stuff to fill the area. I have set aside four of these “water” pieces years ago, they got pretty dusty, sitting on my desk. I took them and figured out that I would build a fountain with a statue. For now, I can only present the fountain, I haven’t built the surroundings yet. Also, some parts are color-substituted, I hope to get them in the right color eventually. I still have not decided about the patterns on the horse. I don’t want to remove them, and I don’t want to use a beaten up horse, with the patterns gone... Probably I will mask the patterns with some black tape. That is not exactly what I would call a purist approach.

The colour issues (aside from the horse) need to be fixed, but I cannot say anything bad about this MOC. The idea is good, and it's incredibly well-executed! The light pipes used as water streams are genius, and the rounded edge of the fountain adds a lot as opposed to taking the easy way and building a square fountain. I am also impressed with the octagonal top - how did you build that part?
Way to go - 5/5! |
