The planetary terrorist organization, Black Scorpion, with support from the Rebel Alliance, drives an overwhelmed Empire into hastily evacuating the Werbaston system.
About this creation
I originally wanted to do a little vignette of two Storm Commandos assassinating a corrupt Moff, which eventually turned into a full-blown scene of the encounter, including the Moff's plush living accomidations. When I realized I didn't have enough bricks to divide my baseplate into seperate rooms, I opted for the honorable battle scene, which in many ways resembles my previous diorama. Brief backround:
Werbaston, a backwater agricultural planet with only two spaceports, was discovered by the Empire during the early years of the Galactic Civil War. Establishing a sizeable outpost on the planet known as Fort Baker and putting Governor Birmingham in charge, the Imperials incurred the wrath of the local population, though without much cause. Extremeists formed the Black Scorpion terrorist organization, harassing the Imperials that ventured outside Baker. After a sizeable Imperial convoy was attacked and plundered by Black Scorpion, it attracted the attention of the Rebel Alliance, eventually providing the organization with large amounts of weapons and elite personnel. After a month-long rebellion throughout the planet, Black Scorpion and a mob of locals directly attacked Fort Baker, overwhelming its meager defenses within a day.
This scene captures the last evac shuttle departing, along with Governor Birmingham being lynched by the mob.
Overall shots of (a small portion of) Fort Baker, showing the evacuating shuttle.
The fort's wall, which has been hastily camouflaged in an attempt to hide Baker from overhead surveillance.
The flag of Black Scorpion, raised by a gleeful member for an assured victory against the Empire.
A member of the elite Black Scorpion Guard can be seen at the left, along with random people and aliens fighting right behind him.
As a stormtrooper falls to his death, Darth Noface can be seen in the lower right, showing off his mad medieval lightsaber skillz.
If every MOC in existance had an Ottoman Turk blowing away someone with musket in one hand and scimitar in the other, the world would be a better place.
Windshield wipers, anyone?
A brave Storm Commando, climbing out of the shuttle as it takes off, attempts to rid it of a Black Scorpion Guard.
That guy is pretty screwed.
As a stormtrooper attempts to clamber aboard, an officer witnesses the mob lynching of Governor Birmingham.
The first example of the Empire losing to the ewoks.
This is the kind of guy that no one wants to ever invite to a pary, but he comes anyway.
A small group of surviving Imperials behind the relative safety of a chattering e-web.
Hastily-built e-web fortification.
Miscellaneous transport containers/pods.
If you have ever played Command and Conquer Generals, imagine the speeder as a GLA Technical/Scorpion tank hybrid.
Every child on Werbaston is destined to serve as a "Wooden Cart w/ Chaingun" operator.
For some reason, I always thought the Naboo Security guy that came with the Flash Speeder set was a wuss, so here he is gettin' a proper smackdown.

I dunno. YOu used a lot of sets that had directions. Also, uh... you kinda used a ton of random people. There were no rebel soldiers.... just jar jar, ewoks, pilots, and other things. Maybe you could make your own rebels. And also make your own sets. It wasnt too bad though.
