My first attempt at building something castle, microscale, and floating rock - all in one model. I wanted to build a dark tower with claw/root-like foundations that grabbed onto its rock surface to give the tower an alien feel. The black didn't come out very well in the photographs, which should teach me to stop making all black models.
edit: I deleted the comment about me voting for myself. The Koh person making the comment below is clearly not me and not related, and I feel this kind of comparison verges on being racist.
i love this design, any castle that isn't planted in the ground is my favorite. but when putting pictures on, choose the center layout and they won't slide off to the right like that. i learned that the hard way.
I really like this. Most of the time with micro scale stuff you have to kind of bend your brain to imagine it as something that looks big, but not the case with this at all! It looks just like what it's supposed to be. Great job!
At least the Shannons of MOCpages know a good thing when they see one, without getting bogged down in a debate over whether it looks like what you think a space pirate lair should look like... Form over function, I always say.
I think it looks great! But it doesn't really strike me as "space pirate." Too black and too clean-looking. I'm thinking "Evil Space-Wizard's Dark Tower." Space-Wizard... now there's an idea... nevermind, I may have to run with that one myself!
