Ferrari 288 GTO
Hello and welcome, after more than a month of work I have finally finished my Ferrari 288 GTO and made it ready to compete in the Car of the Month challenge of the Exotic Sports Car Club for this August. Let`s take a look on the car!
About this creation
As some of you know it was not very easy for me to finish this car. In WIP I asked you about your opinion. You wanted to see it finished, so I did not give up. And I am very happy about this. It is now one of my favourite MOCs and I hope you agree with me.

Basic views:

A view on the front. I really like these edges on the design of the GTO. It looks fast and sharp. In 1984 it was Ferrari`s fastest car ever built. It reached a total speed of 305 km/h.

Now a look on the folding headlihgts. In 1984 the car catched a glimpse of the visitors of the Geneva Motor Show where it was the first time presented.

In my opinion it also looks kind of cute with these headlights!

Now the spare tire in the trunk.

Sadly I did not managed to create a mechanism to open the hood. You have to take it off.

But the doors still open...

...and allow to take a look on the interior.

You can see the middle console with its instruments and the three air condition outputs on the dashboard.

The seats look basic, but have a nice 80`s style.

Now we switch to the engine. I love the Ferrari sticker!

You can see a 400 hp V8, which accelerated the car in 4,6 seconds to 100 km/h. Not bad!

Another look...

It also has no mechanism to open the rear hood, but this is how it should have look like.

The air intakes on the side. I also integrated the black lines on the sides since the WIP.

Again the very sharp looking front.

The rear with the gearbox at the bottom. And yes the rearlights maybe do not look the best way.

And two final action shots:

So first thank you for visiting and a big thank you to all of you, who helped me and gave advises on the WIP. Sometimes you just need some more motivation.

For me it was a very tough build, but the result is maybe one of the best cars I ever made.

Please tell me your opinion in the comment section. See you next time and hopefully very soon!

Quoting Karl M. K. Its very nice to see the GTO in lego. The fornt is very accurate, i recognized it immediately already by the small main picture. Yes, the taillights could be different but at this scale i think there arent really any suitable lights for the GTO anyway. But i very much like the way you did the intercoolers, they look so realistic :) Overall, a superb creation!
Thank you very much! I thought the same about the rear lights. The perfect scale would be between 1x1 and 2x2, but yes there are no suitable parts in this scale.

Quoting David Roberts I like this because as well as looking good, it looks strongly built, as though you could have fun playing with it (well Lego is a toy after all!). That title photo and the close-up of the nose remind me of a Ferrari toy that I had in the 80s. Is that when this car is from? A great looking build, very well presented too.
Wow, thank you for this nice comment!

Only a few hours left to enter your car to the Exotic Sports Car Club "Car of the Month" contest! Also, I want to remind everyone that you must provide a link of your entry in this conversation topic to be eligible. Simply adding to the group pool doesn't count. mocpages.com/group.php/16048 -LB Jr.
