Eliminator ZZ R2
The Eliminator ZZ is now LEGO ideas ready. Improved detailing, swooshability, and playability. The original cockpit was given a hinge to open and close, but that didn't give me the look I was going for. It was also flimsy. So I rebuilt the cockpit and tail to make it open topped and strong.
About this creation
It is on LEGO ideas.

In case you missed the original: The Eliminator ZZ is inspired by the Republic P-47, a ford '33 coupe, and the album cover of ZZ Top's "Afterburner".

Suggested music: ZZ Top, Planet of Women

The fuselage is 2 studs longer than revision 1. It increases swoosh by about 6%.

Quoting Michal Hennel I bet that Zakk Wylde, Lynyrd Skynyrd or other southern rock band would be great to listen to in this craft ... I really see the vintage of hippie era in this. I am always impressed how can you make something so stylistically true and united in so small models. Only thing is that you should make plexi guard much higher, because in cosmic speeds would pilot loose not only his hat, but his magnificent beard would go away as well ... 5/5
I really wanted this one to have an enclosed cockpit, preferably the short bubble canopy. It fit perfectly with the front edge of the cockpit, but the back end didn't look right. I think that a chopped version of the bubble canopy would look cool, but I don't have time to design a project to chop a canopy.

The 6 percent extra swoosh makes all the difference. Very appealing design here!

Quoting Nathan Pownell Awesome! It looks like a futuristic McDonald's delivery ship! XD Great job.
In the future, the Maniac Clown Detachment(MCD) will be a constant annoyance to space freighter traffic, especially at hyperway exits. They will be made up of former humans who have mutated into horrible entumored monsters from eating too much processed food.

Quoting Topsy Creatori That one side view with the fins tucked in screams speed! So cool! :)
I'm glad you like it. I spent a lot of time getting the teardrop shape just right for maximum swoosh.

Quoting David Roberts I love the head-on shot and the bearded minifig. The colours are just right for the old album cover too.
Maybe I could stick that head on shot onto a dark background like the "eliminator" cover.

This is a really nice design. I love the way it tapers down to nothing at the tail end. Nice ZZ Top inspired pilot as well.

The colors are ever great. The shape is really awesome. I like the technique with which you created the snout. The ZZ Top Touch is not to be overlooked. Excellent Work

I was thinking ZZ Top from the thumbnail, which just goes to show you nailed it.

Great use of colors. The combination reminds me of old creator sets.
