2014 BrickBattle Games Round 2: Legomania . vs Joel Tyer: Death of a Leader
While hunting for treasure, a small group of soldiers is ambushed by a pirate. The pirate is able to stab the soldier’s leader, and kill him.
About this creation
For Round 2 of the 2014 BrickBattle Games. My opponent is Joel Tyer, and his entry can be seen here.

Category: Royal Assassination
Well if your leader died you would be angry to, right?

Another lame backstory.

The assassination.

Under the water.

The brown brooms are supposed to be some sort of sponge.

If you remove the water you can see the underwater terrain better.

The rock, which features my best rockwork ever, in my opinion.

No figs

Fourth Wall: I really enjoyed building this, and I'm pretty happy with the result. It has what I consider to be my best rockwork, and I tried out a few techniques. Also, I'm using a new background. What do you guys think? The upper part feels bland to me, so I may revisit this soon. Anyway, I hope you like the build. Good luck Joel!

Well done on the rockwork! Love those brooms. :P I do agree with David about the sand on top. It would make more sense if it wasn't floating on top of the water. :P But it's a great scene!

Really nice job! The rockwork and layering look great and I really like the concept of the two levels. The only things I would suggest are pebbles and such in the sand, particular the underwater sand. The other thing is to make the underwater sand dark tan. Wet sand is darker than dry, so it would really add to the effect if you made them separated that way. But as I said, overall great job. :P

Such a cool scene! I especially like the rockwork, and the sponges are a nice touch as well. What doesn't work though is how the sand somehow sits on top of water with nothing beneath it for support.

I think that middle soldier has something to do with the assassination; that arrogant smirk is a dead giveaway... Cool build, well done rock work!

This is a very cool technique you used with showing the surface of the water and then what's underneath. I don't think I've seen anything quite exactly like it. It seems a little wasted though, considering that nothing under the water's surface has any thing to do with the story. I would love to see something like this from you again, only with something under the water being significant. Again, great technique.

I really like how you did the water, the trans blue bricks and the lighting make it look really believable!

Great build!! That water is super good!! The sand.. yea! It feels a bit bland... I'd add some studs or rocks or something small but those rocks under the water look amazing!!!

Very nice stuff! It would have looked a bit better if there was dark tan by the shoreline, Still, you had great rock work....so it doesn't matter that much! ;)
