New MOC from me. Another storyline MOC this time. I haven't had a lot of time to build new stuff lately, since I'm working on my Brickvention 2015 build, which is big and takes up a lot of time. But I took a break and built this :) Enjoy!
About this creation
Element: Ice (formerly) Now Light
Title(s): The Peacebringer, Monk, Brother, Guardian of Light, Leader, Sir
Mask: Kakama: Mask of Speed
Tiberis is an agile, proud and humble Toa. Since his birth he has been a proud member of the “Guardian’s of the Light” a group of Monks that live in the mountains of Ko-Metru, who believe that violence is never an option and keeping the peace is to be done in a spiritual way. Their goal is to find enlightenment through Mata Nui and the Great Being’s Guidance.
The “Guardian’s of the Light” lived far away from civilization their existence was often doubted given that few had even laid eyes of a Monk from this order. Most monks enjoyed this Isolation as they disliked the petty squabbles and fights that Matoran and Toa had amongst themselves. Tiberis however was different, whenever he could he would visit the villages of Ko-Metru and be-friend it’s citizens.
Tiberis was often refered to as, “The Peacebringer” he had a talent for bringing in troubled or misguided Matoran into the order. One day Tiberis’s was visited by a good friend of his, a Turaga by the name of Hangata. He came to ask Tiberis a favour. A Matoran by the name of Lakuva was causing havoc all over his village and something needed to be done. Tiberis of course accepted.
Hangata and Tiberis walked down a dark alleyway in the slums of Le-Metru. Water dripped from broken pipes falling to the ground with a thud as it did so. Before the two stood Lakuva, who was enjoying the spoils of his recent crimes. Trash littered the floor under Tiberis's feet as he walked forward and placed his hand on Lakuva's shoulder. Tiberis told Lakuva what he thought of Lakuva's terrible behaviour, telling him how impressed he was by him.
Lakuva was shocked to hear that someone appreciated what he did, as everyone in the whole of Le-Metru hated him with a passion. The two really hit it off as they exchanged stories. Tiberis spoke to Lakuva about the fun that could be had back at the monastery where he lived telling him of all the important sacred items there that he could steal. Lakuva was in awe of how this monastery sounded, it sounded like a thieves dream to him!
Little did Lakuva know, Tiberis was just playing games with him. He would slowly work his magic and show Tiberis his ways of stealing are very wrong.
Lakuva and Tiberis entered the monastery and headed straight of the Temple of Light, the most sacred building in the entire monastery. Lakuva's fingers where itching, he couldn't wait to get his hands on everything in the temple, he wanted it all! Lakuva laid eyes on a golden idol, it depicted Mata Nui and Seven stars around it. The light reflected off each star in a different way, it was beautiful … Lakuva needed it.
With a sharp pounce Lakuva grabbed the idol, his fingers wrapping around it like a snake to its prey. Lakuva lifted his hand to take a closer look at his trophy, only to see that the idol was gone. Tiberis had the idol in his hand and placed it back on the altar it sat on previously.
Lakuva was speechless, no one had ever stolen from him before. Tiberis looked down at Lakuva and stated how he was going to train him, he would be a Monk, a member of the “Guardian's of the Light” he would change his ways and stop the foolish acts he committed. Lakuva accepted Tiberis's offer, however, he only wished to learn what he could from Tiberis to ultimately use it for thieving.
Lakuva and Tiberis trained and learnt side by side for years together. When Lakuva's training was complete Lakuva had lost all interest in his past ways, he could care less about thieving, he only wished to bring peace through the guidance of Mata Nui, he was a changed Matoran. In celebration of the completion of his training Lakuva was awarded with a Toa stone. Lakuva was not only a changed matoran, he was a changed Toa. Lakuva would spend the rest of his time living as a Monk.
The two became good friends, Despite the fact that Tiberis had brought in many misguided folk before Lakuva, none were as strong or talented as Lakuva, and he enjoyed having him as a student.
Years later, when Makuta rose to power, The Guardian's of the Light's monastery was overrun by Rahkshi who killed all the Toa insight. Lakuva and Tiberis fought side by side defending their home at all costs. Soon the Rahkshi were too much and far outnumbered the two brothers. They were captured and brought back to Makuta.
Makuta imprisoned them together in a cell with other Toa. They were used for experiments to test out Makuta's various creations and experiments. One of the experiments, a female Rahkshi even joined them in the cells after failing to pass one of Makuta's tests. The Toa became friends with Josan, a Toa of Red Lighting who was imprisoned in the same cell as them and they vowed to help each other stay alive as long as they could.
One of Makuta's tests began and a Blue Toa entered the arena with them, Lakuva and the others were shocked to see a new Toa, as they assumed they were the last of their kind on Aqua Magna. When one of the other imprisoned Toa went to greet the new Toa, he was stabbed right through the chest. This Toa was no Toa, he was a Makuta, He was the experiment they had to face. They fought long and hard against the Blue Makuta but could not defeat him, he killed all the Toa in the stadium leaving only Josan, Tiberius and Lakuva. Makuta Teridax called off the fight, having seen enough.
The three Toa bruised and beaten from battle returned to their cells and spelt, hoping to re-gain their strength. Lakuva awoke to Josan banging on his Cell in anger. The Blue Toa stood there before them. He told them he had betrayed Makuta and wished to help them escape. None of the Toa believed the Blue warrior, who now identifying himself as Cossy. Lakuva asked Cossy to step forward and let him use his mask of mind reading to see if he was speaking truth. Lakuva's mask grew bright as a wealth of memories and words entered his head.
Cossy was telling the truth, Lakuva knew it. He told the others. Rahksanne, Makuta's failed experiment joined Cossy, Lakuva, Tiberis and Josan as they escaped the prison. However before they could escape, they were met by Rahkshi guards, their escape plan had failed. The prisoners were taken to Makuta, he was furious to see that Cossy had followed Rahkshi and betrayed him.
Tiberis Looked over at Cossy, feeling peace knowing that there was now some hope for the Toa in this time of Darkness, however he didn’t see any way out of this situation. Lakuva dropped his head and begin speaking under his breath a silent prayer to the Great Beings, asking them to ensure that peace would return and Makuta’s evil reign would end.
Tiberis heard Makuta roar in anger, he opened his eyes and could see a dark shadow under his feet, he looked up, Makuta’s giant fist was above him, hurtling down as a fast rate. Before he could think he blanked out.
Tiberis was no more. Makuta’s rage from Cossy’s betrayal caused him to slam down his fist beside Cossy, obliterating Tiberis in the process. Makuta’s giant Robotic body stood before Cossy and the others. It was miles high, standing in the same place it had been when Mata Nui was once inside it.
Makuta ordered the Rahkshi to grab the remaining Toa and imprison the band of Rebels inside his Mechanical body in the hopes they would die in his fight with Mata Nui on Bara Magna.
Little did Makuta know that he would be no more soon.
Fourth Wall Commentary:
The concept with this MOC was to have a simple build that I didn't have to worry about making overall custom. I didn't however want it to look too basic, hopefully that shows.
The other idea I had in mind with this MOC was to have it have removable armour. While that feature is small and could have been expanded, I'm happy with how it turned out :)
dude, this is sick! (sorry, my street took over there) but seriously, this guy is cool. quick question. this guy reminds me of the moc clockwork guardian by Steve the squid. you reviewed it on the inspiration series (any chance of another episode btw)and i wondered if that was the inspiration. anyway, great moc. wish i could build like that :( (p.s. could you check out my moc please. it could really do with some critique. you don't have to, but it would be appreciated.)
Terrific moc, great color scheme and the removable armor function may be small, but it's pretty cool. And I was wondering could you maybe look on my page and maybe comment on a couple of my mocs? I would appreciate it very much. Again terrific moc and it looks great. And how do you get so many parts?
Awesome! Love the design of this guy, especially the colours; all white is really effective as it makes him stand out. I like the idea of the add-on armour, though as you said, I think there should've been some on the limbs. Great backstory, I like how these are tying in with each other... Can't wait for more! (The Josan guy next, I presume?)
Very good! Very very good. I'v always liked mocs with parts packed together to form a semblance of solidity, instead of more porous limbs covered with larger pieces. One of my favorite mocs from you yet. But why does he have a sword when his order believes everything can be solved peacefully?
Cheers Cody :) Glad you like him, looking forward to yours :D and cheers Ekorak, I do agree he is my least favourite of the 4 of them, but I'm happy with him regardless, glad you like him. As for the next one to come, I'm keen to keep on building, so hopefully soon!
Well.....I'm impressed. I don't quite like him as much as the other three so far, possibly because he isn't as smooth, but I feel that it works for his character. I reaaally love the removable armor, though. Looking forward to your next MOC, whenever it comes ;)
