JR LOTR Olympics R4: Graeme S. Vs. Mate P – A War On Two Fronts
As Aragorn and the rest of the Fellowship of the Ring charge the Black Gate, Thranduil and his elves defend Mirkwood form the oncoming invasion from Dol Goldur.
About this creation
Hey!

Contest - JR LOTR Olympics
Round – Final!!! (4)
Opponent – Mate P (He hasn’t posted it entry, yet, but I’m sure it’s gonna be huge. :P)

Sooo this idea is from the “Histories Of Middle-earth” that I got for my Birthday this year. :D Apparently as the Battle of Minas Tirith was going on, Orcs from Dol Guldor were attacking Dale and the Lonely Mountain. They’d also attacked Mirkwood and Lothlorien.

The BUILD part came kinda from Graham Gidman . He said (And I quote) "Got WAY out of the box!! This category is just begging you too!" :P So I did. Kinda.

I stayed a little more in MY box and build a straight on scene, but with a twist on it.

Well... here it is!

A nice macro shot of one of the Orcs…

I’m very happy with this pose. I’m pretty sure I’m the only on (at least on MOCpages) that uses it. :P

The King of the Woodland Realm

Gandalf charging alongside, Aragorn and Eomer

The Orcs, defending the Black Gate

The build, ‘fig-less

A log… :P

A super nice picture of the water. I tried to make it look as real as possible… :D

A slant—Opps! Sorry ‘bout that!

A little sapling

The rocks of Mordor

Just so you know, that maroon is NOT blood, just some high-lights. :D

Some little shrubs, thanks to my little sister for the idea!!

A parting shot of my infamous... BROWN GRASS PART!!! :P I try to sneak him into all my builds. :P

Thanks for checking this out!! Comments, likes and critique are all welcome!
Good luck to Mate with his entry and the judges. :P

Soli Deo Gloria
-Graeme

Quoting = Nathaniel = Great work Gam- oops Graeme :P (need to get out of the habit of calling you Gamma). I really like the spit scene, it seems that most people don’t know what hapend in mirkwood during the LotR!!! I don’t really like the red stone but, because it’s mordor I guess you can get away with it! The other rock work is amazing and so is the forest!!!!
Thanks, man! Yea... I both love and hate those red rocks... :P I would have used just dark tan but I ran out due to the large amount I used for the riverbank. I think it breaks it up a bit... :D Good to see you here!

Well done Graeme! Nice job on the trees. The lighting is a little WOW so some of the colors really stand out, particularly the red on the rocks. And yeah, the rocks aren't perfect (definitely not your best), but I won't say any more, for judging sake. :P Good luck!

Yeah, love the colors and styling. In a build like this, rougher and more complex rockwork would be better, but whatever :P good luck!

Very delightful scene (and I say that un-sarcastically). What I mean is, the building techniques and the nice photography have made this scene really nice. I especially like the decapitation shot of the orc! Hehe. Anyway, stellar job! I like the use of the 1x1 clear round studs as water bubbles! 5/5! :-)

Nice build! The rock work isn't the best though...I'm not to good with critiquing so I'll just suggest consulting Kai Berstein or Halhi 141. Once again great build Graeme, and good luck!

Quoting Arthur Martin Genius prue genius. I never have seen something so creative it perfect shows both parts of what's going on, and how the war for the ring happened all over not just where the fellowship was. And of course the brown grass piece I got to he me one of those. Great work if I was a judge you would have won my vote.
Wow! Thanks man. :P I must say I like it a lot too. :)
