Optimus Primal - Beast Machines meets Hero Factory
This is what happens when a monkey gets into your system collection....
About this creation
Just monkeying around..... bought a large Lego lot a few weeks back and it included a majority of HF/Bionicle parts. The Chima monkey head in the lot screamed make an Optimus Primal! I was going to build a system MOC with it, but instead I made a kid friendly, fun, HF/bioformer build! Here he is, it's..... Optimus Primal, loosely inspired by his silverback alt mode from Beast Machines! He is the same height in robot mode as my 2014 Optimus Prime reboot! I am partial to the beast mode! I smell stop motion...or is that monkey poop?...... Enjoy this fun build - I am off to Brickfete!

Awesome! I love making stop motions, and I am making one now to use for my youtube account intro, based off the g1 season two intro. I can't wait to see your stop motion! I'm not a huge fan of beast machines, but this is a great representation. nice to see you step out of the g1 box :)

as I am just about to load it right now ... He has a custom crate that I designed that fits him perfectly has shaped wood and foam and the crate has wheels for easy transport. It also helps that Plex is pretty sturdy to begin with! He's a very heavy brick!
Quoting Disco Chicken How do you transport huge creations like metroplex to brickfete without it breaking? as I am just about to load it right now ... He has a custom crate that I designed that fits him perfectly has shapped foam and the crate has wheels for easy transport. It also helps that Plex is pretty sturdy to boot! He's a very heavy brick!

the robot head is more or less my standard prime head design - minus the antennae - but in black and gold of course!
Quoting Stuart Lucas Monkeying around indeed! I like the head design - my kids just got lent a DVD of Beast Wars, so I'm getting to know a new batch of characters. The anýmal forms defintely lend themselves to Hero Factory treatment, as you've shown here!

Maybe. We'll see!
Quoting Commander Spencer Very interesting concept. It seems that HF was just meant for Beast Machines. I assume you'll be making more? Maybe a Megatron in his cocoon?

I did consider it while playing with my nephews - however there aren't any joint pieces. LOL!
Quoting Starscream Soundwave Superb stuff, you're exceptionally talented with all forms of Lego. At this point, I wouldn't be too surprised to see a Duplo 'former from you!

Beast Wars was always weird to me but you still did a neat job here. The gold looks cool.
